    What I'm getting at is I have bad eye sight and I don't think the comparison between Fox and Wall is a good one. I haven't seen a lot of comparisons to Wall, but even if I had, I'd say they were incorrect. I've watched a decent amount of Fox and I remember Wall vividly and I don't see them being very similar. In some ways I'd say Fox might be a more well-rounded basketball player than Wall because of how much of Wall's game was based off that incredible athleticism.
    Again, you're saying things I didn't say. Fox is very athletic, he's just not Wall athletic. They're different players and they'll be different players in the NBA. I'd love to pin this and give it a few years and we can talk about what Fox looks like in the NBA compared to Wall.
    All I'm saying is that I don't agree with the comparison, I don't think Fox will look like Wall in the NBA. I think he'll look more like Beverly especially at first, but I'm starting to dig the comparison to Teague or George Hill a bit too. We could easily agree to disagree on something.
    I agree with that. I like Ball, but I don't think he's a savior and I wouldn't characterize him as such. I also don't think it's so crazy though to be optimistic about him and I can see easily why he inspires confidence and hope in a fan base. He has the sort of game that can elevate players. It's a gift.
    Going way overboard like comparing him Fox to Wall? I mean it seems like calling the kettle black a bit. If you don't like the Kidd comparison, why make the Wall one? Not to mention, when I've compared Ball to Kidd, it's been solely in their ability to inspire their teammates to be the best versions of themselves. They'll be different players and I've said that a lot. I've said it over and over again. I think the comparison in their leadership is fair.

    And again for the record: I think Ball is a start in the right direction if you get him. I didn't say he'd transform an NBA team into a 40 win team. I said he'd help a culture of unselfishness which is what this team needs in great amounts. We don't have enough kids who are willing to unselfishly pickup their teammates around them.

    I agree completely. I think if the team keeps the pick, they're very likely to move it. I also think (just given reports we've seen from multiple people in and out of the organization) that they really like Ball. If they get the pick, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they dangled it to Indiana for George, but I think they'll value the pick very, very highly. We may not see George movement until the deadline.

    if you don't see any of wall in fox, but you do see george hill and pat beverly...we are not watching the same things.

    39 points against UCLA is impressive. He looks like he'll have a solid game on O, even if he doesn't have a three.

    With Welsh on the bench in foul trouble. Fox looks legit to me, but he did most of his damage with Welsh out of the game. As for a 3 ball, the one thing they can teach is how to shoot. Speed and heart, not so much. He has those already. I wouldn't be sad if we ended up with Fox at all. He can wear 17 too.

    Okay, if I back off my Beverely comparison (which I still think is what he looks like in the NBA right now), I think we're looking at George Hill then or at best Jeff Teague. Let's say George Hill though who at points in his career averaged 16/5 for the season. Solid player.

    Maybe Patrick Beverly with more of an offensive game. He definitely plays with the intensity Bev plays at. Didn't think it was that bad of a comparison.

    so, he's a big pg with great speed and body control who plays hard, but there are some questions about his long range shooting? *scratches head thinking of comps...*

    I'm not impressed enough by ANY college player to not look to trade that pick for an all-star as the first option. Big tournament runs don't translate to success any more than laying an egg in the tournament leads to lack of success. I'm not taking or passing on Ball, Fox, or anyone else based on the tournament, the college game is night and day different from the NBA. Plenty of quick, little guards succeed in college for example that would get eaten up in the NBA. That doesn't apply to Ball and Fox as taller guards, but my point remains that I look at specific skills that translate, not big scoring outbursts or a low scoring game. For example, I see a lot of people high on Jackson from Kansas, but his game looks unpolished and kinda ugly to me. He won't score in the paint with those ugly moves in the NBA, what will translate is his athleticism, but almost everyone in the NBA is on another athletic level, so that doesn't get you far if you don't have other skills, main example Wes Johnson. If I were forced to take one of these players it'd probably be Ball based on his clearly above average court vision.

    His quickness and athleticism ratings are 10 and 9 on NBA Draft.net. Not many people can say that - and be 6'3 or taller. Ball is 8/8, while Fultz is 9/9. NC State's PG is 10/9, but he's 6'2.

    It seems a pretty impressive physical profile.

    Fox has been mostly shut down on offense against NC because he can't shoot. Will that matter as much in the NBA where you can't touch guys on the perimeter, and he is lightning quick? Probably not, but I also can't name an elite NBA PG that can't shoot, the shooting is what separates the good from the great in the NBA. At the same time Fox has still had a major impact on this game because he's been everywhere on defense, getting steals with his quickness, jumping and deflecting passes with his length and athleticism, it's been very impressive. Hard to call him a game changer or see him as a top 3 pick without a jumper though. If I had to find a comparison, it might be Rondo.

    No. I don't. Trade the pick if possible. I'm willing to part ways with any combo of the pick, Randle, Ingram, Russell, and Clarkson as long as we are getting true all star players in return and don't ship them all out for one guy or something crazy like that.

    think everybody needs to go back and read about wall prior to the draft.

    19 years old is too early to say someone "can't shoot". he'll never be a deadeye, or a threat to pull up, curry/lillard style, from 8 ft behind the line. but when you're taller and faster than your opponent, you don't have to...

    Yeah, but at the same time, when you can't shoot to the degree that you don't even attempt an outside shot, you barely even fake like you're going to take one..that's going to close off any lanes that might otherwise be open to you in the NBA. Fox doesn't even take a shot outside the lane, that's possibly the sort of path that gets guys sagging 10 feet off you and daring you to shoot in the NBA like with Rondo. Sure maybe he can learn to shoot, but I can't even comment on it he has a basic start because he doesn't take any shots. It'd be a major concern if I was considering taking this guy top 3 and I didn't get a real good look at his shot mechanics in pre draft workouts.
