Kobe has 698 points, tied for 38th best. Kobe has 157 rebounds, tied for 84th best. Kobe has 150 assists, 43rd best. 19th season: 3rd in points, 187 to pass Stockton 4th in assists, 14 to pass Malone 8th in rebounds, 22 to pass Shaq
what is the first set of numbers again? Kobe might end up having the best season for 36 ever. That'd be cool
The first set is for age 36 season; the second set for 19th season numbers. He's way more likely to have the best 19th season numbers than age 36 numbers.
Age 36 season: Kobe has 713 points, tied for 37th best. Kobe has 166 rebounds, tied for 82nd best. Kobe has 158 assists, 43rd best. 19th season: 3rd in points, 172 to pass Stockton 4th in assists, 6 to pass Malone 8th in rebounds, 13 to pass Shaq
Age 36 season: Kobe has 733 points, 37th best. Kobe has 172 rebounds, 81st best. Kobe has 164 assists, 41st best. 19th season: 3rd in points, 152 to pass Stockton 3rd-tied in assists, tied with Malone 8th in rebounds, 7 to pass Shaq
well since he started younger than anyone before him, that makes sense. prolly still have a great season for 36 and for how much miles though
^ To keep things in perspective, after about 40% of the season, it's already about the 50th best statistical season for a player at age 36. So if he stays healthy, it should be super elite.
Can you tell me for age 36 season, how much points, rebounds and assist are needed to be in the top 10, and to be number 1? For the 19 season im sure he will be 1 in points, assist probably second behind Stockton, rebounds i would say 3-4, behind Malone, KAJ and probably some centers that i do not remember. Thanks!
Rebounds: Shaq was #10 at 647, Wilt #1 at 1526 Assists: Stockton was 10th at 374, Nash #1 at 855 Points: Moses Malone was 10th at 1279, Malone had 2095 For year 19, he would need 1166 points, 629 assists, 478 boards. He should get the points, should finish 2nd in assists, and might finish 2nd in boards.
First week back to classes. I've been adapting my sleep patterns, so I wasn't able to watch the game yesterday. I'm on it right now though...
Age 36 season: Kobe has 768 points, 35th best. Kobe has 192 rebounds, 71st best. Kobe has 195 assists, 32nd best. 19th season: 3rd in points, 117 to pass Stockton 3rd in assists, 55 to pass Kidd 7th in rebounds, 19 to pass Stockton Only 5 players since 1985-86 have handed out 17+ assists at age 36 or older: Nash 12 times Kidd 5 Stockton 3 Kobe and Mark Jackson 1
^^ Wow. Thanks so much for the update TRodgers. Great stuff. Man, the countdown is on for those 19th season stats.
4 of those 5 Players are PGs and oh by the way the top 4 of the NBA All-Time Assist Leaders and one of them is the never passing, ball hawking, always looking for his own shoot SG... Amazing numbers
One of the many reasons I don't want Kobe to shut it down. He's still able to do things that no one - or almost no one - with his mileage and/or age has been able to do. We've got to keep him rested, but he should definitely be out there playing.
Give Kobe a good team and I think he can definitely play beyond his current contract. If he wants to keep going is another story.
Kobe just passed KG for most assists in year 20 - so his 79 are now the most by any player in his year 20 season. KB also has the following year 20 records now: 3pt attempted 3pt made Since Turning 30: Most Points Kobe is 15th with 11,247 points. Malone scored 19,941 after 30. Most Assists Kobe is 38th with 2199 assists. Stockton dished 8441 after 30. Most Rebounds Kobe is 123rd with 2309 rebounds. Wilt grabbed 10,433 after 30.
Kobe is now first in points and assists among players in their 20th year. He's tied for first in steals. He's second in minutes played. In terms of sheer level of output, I have him as just having surpassed KG's season to move into second place behind Kareem for the best 20th season performance in NBA history.
