Yeah. It's like whenever a couple people started to speak and have a personal conversation and we thought we might get some sort of character development, the writers were like, "NOPE! Giant monster incoming!"

The giant bug monster in the forest with that one guy by himself right? Then he gets taken out by the crocodile thing? Or Kong in the water and for some reason they threw a giant octopus in there... Lots of stuff like that which just wasn't necessary, but cool eye candy. I mean It is what it is. I'd probably prefer this Kong to Peter Jackson's 3 hour snooze fest.

Thanks for the Kong info. I'm a HUGE Kong fan going back to early childhood. My first Kong movie was watching the original on TV and being mesmerized by the big guy. Then, when I was 7 years old they came out with King Kong vs. Godzilla. I saw it in the theater on a Saturday morning and was convinced I was watching the greatest movie ever made as the two giants battled.

I'm glad to hear this one is all about the action. I don't need any story getting in the way of Kong strutting his stuff.

As the father of a young girl roughly x23's age, and placing myself in the role of 'any dad would die to save his little girl', I knew I'd lose it if she called him daddy as he died. I was waiting for it, and sure enough...

I watched Beauty and the Beast! Fans of the original will like it. Fans of musicals will like it. Fans of princesses and sensitive beasts will like it.

People who don't like musicals probably wont. I recommend it though.

I thought it was outstanding. Not on Dark Knight or Civil War level, but just a notch below.

There were a lot of people crying in our theater when that movie ended. A lot of people were crying when he was burying Xavier too.

That part and when he's burying Charles, you could feel the pain.

    Magnus (2016)

I really enjoyed this 1 hour and 15 minute documentary. I don't play chess often but I like the game and this documentary really made you feel the pressure and emotion this young man was feeling going up against the 5 time world champion chess player. The extensive behind the scene footage of it all really blew my mind how big these chess finals/championships are. I knew they were big years ago, but the world of chess and the popularity it still has with so many kids around the world has this man - Magnus Carlsen to thank. It's also rewarding to me to see someone getting picked on when they are younger and then overcoming everything to end up who/where they are today.

    A-/B+

Edit: It's on Netflix by the way. Forgot to mention that.

Saw Kong today in 3D with the wife.

The 3D was not worth it. Avatar is still the only 3D movie that made me glad that I endured wearing those glasses.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. You guys described it well. No real story. No great acting. Just great B movie action. They got Kong right which was what mattered most. I also like that they didn't have Kong fall in love with the girl. And now I wait for Kong vs. Godzilla.

My wife's review: "That was the most stupid movie I've ever seen."

:) Reminds me of the company controller I used to work with. He took his wife to see "Caddyshack"... He loved it, she totally hated it. Deep down inside, he enjoyed her reaction.

All the ones I wanted at RedBox was gone... Don't have Netflix...don't trust anything streaming. Oh and the movie? C-/D+. Was it ever discussed here about Jon Hamm being the next Bond? He has the looks and physique for it.

Hamm is too old. I'm hoping for Tom Hardy, I guess. Saw the flick. Was strange. They try to play Isla Fisher as an almost "plain Jane" next to Gal. And it wasn't clever, but it was a bit funny.

Google is my friend... :) 46 AND American. Two strikes. Hardy would be a good choice.

Yeah. I know I can't be the only person who thinks Isla Fisher is hotter than Gal Gadot, right?

As for Hamm being too old, you are right. But Hardy would be over 40 by the time they start filming. I kind of wonder where Hamm goes from here. He is a very talented actor. He can do serious drama, comedy and he is a good looking dude. You kind of have to wonder if he was going to have a big film career, it would have shown signs of life by now.

Both are extremely hot. Tough to compare or choose between.
