I didn't really post in the one on CL, but I love this sport. Been into watching for about 2 years now and even started training at Tapout LA before moving to NY and now CT. It gives me hope because fighters don't really peak in MMA until their 30's, so I don't feel so old.

I'm amped to see John Jones Vs. Daniel Cormier. I predict this to be a match of the ages. They are both just beasts, and they hate each other's guts lol. I hope it's a good fight, but I'm rooting for John Jones.

I'm into the UFC; got into about 3 or 4 years back. Cormier and Jones are an interesting style match up; Cormier is the best wrestler that Jon has ever faced but John has destroyed every other grappler he has face; John has a huge reach advantage but Daniel knows how to fight guys with longer reach...he used to fight at HW. I'll take John, though in a UD decision. Jon outstrikes Daniel and fends off his wrestling, IMO

I think this fight will be good for Jones. He seemed to be getting somewhat bored. He needed someone to get his attention.

I thought this video was pretty amazing. Heard Joe Rogan talking about it. The little old man in it is a 10th Dan and he's fighting some of his highest level Ju Jitsu students. It's not even a match.

The only problem with that video is it's impossible to determine whether the students were really going all out. In a heavy honor system like that it can be dishonorable to "show up" the master.

I'm pretty confident I could put him on the floor.

Well, Joe Rogan was talking about that saying people that know martial arts, like himself, can spot BS in an instant, and that they were really trying to toss him and just failing.

Rogan calls out all the videos of "masters" using chi and their students flying back from the chi, so he has no love for that kind of stuff. He thinks this was real.

Well, I'll say Rogan has forgotten more about MMA than I've ever learned. It just looked to me like they were going easy.

    Re Bones VS DC.

I can't stand Bones, every time he speaks I dislike him more and I will stand and cheer if DC KOs him. BUT Bones just might be the baddest man on the planet and every time he fights(even when I feel like he lost to Gus) I am more and more impressed with him as an athlete and his approach to the sport. Should be a classic and maybe, just maybe, with Gus and Anthony Johnson coming up the ranks we could be in one of those once in a generation weight classes like Foreman,Ali, Frasier...

    RE: Judo Video

I think one thing to keep in mind is that is from perhaps the second most esteemed Judoka in History who was practicing Judo before it was gutted and turned into a sport.

Cormier is the last hope for the Light Heavyweight weight class, that's for sure. I think Jones will win as well, but oh man do I expect it to be a great fight.

If Jones does win, the only thing I can see next would be to have him go up against Cain Velaquez somehow. After that, here are no other contenders in the sport that might be able to beat Jones IMO.

Jon Jones greatness as a fighter is only surpassed by his greatness as a douche bag.

Lol. I love the guy. I'm surprised so many people think he's a douche. I've always thought Cormier was the douchier of the two.

This fight was everything I thought it would be. Extremely close through and through. I though Jones came out more tentative than I've ever seen him before, and Cormier was really confident and aggressive, but in the end, I think Jones had just a little bit more skill and stamina than Cormier.

If Cormier was few years younger, i could see him working on his stamina and taking out Jones. As it stands now, Jones is safe... until he faces Gustafsson ;)

A fighter just get's into their prime in MMA in their mid thirties. I think the reason Cormier was winded was because he's not use to going 5 rounds. Probably didn't train for stamina well enough. Should have held camp in Denver or something.

I thought Jones Vs. Gustafsson was closer than this fight actually, but still, I think Jones would win it again. Cain is the only one that might be able to beat Jones now IMO.
