I would keep #3 and trade DLo + Houston pick for Sac #6 or #7.

At #6 or #7 I get Monk. At #3 I get Dennis Smith Jr.

    BOOM LILLARD + MCCOLLUM 2.0

Smith looks recovered from the ACL tear, I think another year and he's got that explosiveness back 100%.

He started off as extremely iso heavy. He looked a lot like Rudy Gay. He's done a better job of affecting the game in different ways as the season has gone along.

The more videos I watch of Dennis Smith Jr the more okay I am of drafting him #3

This kid reminds me of a more athletic CP3.

I dont know anything of smith or monk but why would we add hou pick to get 6th or 7th...i would think dlo is worth more than 6th or 7th by himself

You would think plus Smith and Monk are both better than DLo

I guess but on draftnet, they compare monk to Huges, not appealing and hes a 6'3" sg, also not appealing even if he can light it up.

I have looked at our schedule and a loss to Phoenix today would more or less secure the 2 position in loterry.
The following games are winnable: Philly, 2x Minny, Queens, all at home. The rest are road games or against playoff teams-teams fighting for playoffs.

I think they'll for sure finish in bottom 3 worst records. So it will be all about how the ping pong balls land.

Clearly you WANT to tank... but can easily do that via playing the youngsters for growth rather than effectiveness. Want Russ to be better off the dribble even though its not a current strong suit?... utilize it now. Want guys to develop a back to the basket game that do not currently have NBA level skill sets? THIS is the time to ramp up the learning curve in real time. The results will be mediocre (yet pay future dividends in the progression of their game) while ALSO increasing the likelihood of not putting Ws on the board.

One thing is for sure... a couple years of Kobe glory has put the proudest franchise in history into a decade of failure.

I was with you until that last part. I don't think you can place the blame for all of the management's bad decisions at his feet. He didn't sign Deng and Mozgov for instance. He didn't insist on keeping Sacre over Whiteside because he like him. While we did cater to Kobe like we probably should have, he's hardly the cause of our entire situation.

    We have "basketball reasons"
We have Nash injury and questionable trade of draft picks
We have Dwight and Pau walking away without compensation
    etc, etc, etc.

And welcome to the board! Nice first post! :Headbang:

pssst: I was warned about attacking new posters. I'm on my best behavior until they have at least 100 posts and are hooked on LB.

besides, if his feeling about Kobe are really that wacky, imagine how much fun it will be to hear his feelings about our youngins....

Nightmare ends in 2018 at the latest. I believe PG-13 is coming. No doubt. Id like it to start this summer but I am trying to be realistic. BI has shown he can run an offense to a degree and play solid D. That has been pretty consistent. Even if BI isnt the offensive player we thought he could be, I know he has the skill set and mindset to be a DOPY candidate every year. As a matter of fact, if that is the case, I would coach him to basically be the guy that covers every single #1. BI as a DOPY is a win for me. Especially with all the shooters and perimeter guys now that can ball.

I still think DAR can be a star, however he has to show it sooner in LA. If not, the Lakers will trade him. Randle is ok, Clarkson is ok. Those two pieces to a title team, not major contributors. Zubac is a guy who can be a HUGE player when this team adds the pieces. We will wait and see, he has the smarts, size and funds. That's not a bad start for a 19 year old. He just needs to mature body wise and know the game.

Pelinka has his work cut out for him. I am not so much concerned with Magic, it will be Pelinka who will be making the presentation and that is what will separate the good and bad.

Tank crowd is beating the don't tank voters 42 to 15. They're Democrats so they stole the undecided votes.

At this point I'm in the tank crowd. I wasn't even as little as a month ago, but at this point? We aren't good enough to win more than another 6 games. So if my choice is win 6 games and have the 3rd worst record or win 3 games and have the second worst...I ain't going to die on a hill in hopes of reaching that elusive 25 win plateau.

Big night for team tank against the Suns. I think Bledsoe might be sitting out?
