It was like a dream having two pg's having good games who could compete for first place, and kobe getting 8 assists. Oh well, I would like to congratulate Ronnie Price for a good game. If I acknowledge the bad, I also have to look for the positives.
Great quarter, Ronnie... But I liked what Ellington did more and I'd rather he get more playing time than you. Sorry.
It's time to give Ronnie some real respect around LB. He has stepped his game up way beyond what we thought he was capable of earlier in the season and has been balling his A** off. Against Denver tonight: 33:15 Min 6-10 FG 5-6 3PT 1-2 FT +13 +/- 3 Def Reb 4 Ast 3 TO 2 Stl 18 Pts He has looked pretty damn decent with his handles, has been adding some nice "tricks" to his point guard skills offensively, is very athletic, plays as good defense against opposing PGs as we've had since whom (?) and certainly has improved his shooting. The guy has Grit.
Agreed. I never thought he was great but he's hitting shots and making big plays as a starter. I really liked that rondo-esque wrap-around ball fake and dish to one of our bigs. He impressed me tonight, hope he keeps shooting well from deep.
Price has been phenomenal that last few games with that 3pt shot. I'm getting to the point now that I'm a little surprised if he missed it when he's wide open. You can see he clearly has been putting in the work as far as shooting. His grit, hustle, and energy on the defensive end and when he goes to rebound the ball is a fun, great sight to see as well. Keep up the great work Ronnie and I just hope you can stay consistent.
He has made believers of a lot of us. I keep seeing the word GRIT being used about Ronnie with no sense of Irony at all. So until a better name comes along I bestow the nickname Ronnie Grit. It is rewarding seeing Ronnie, Wes and Boozer amongst other players showing the heart and tenacity to challenge perceptions in a season where our team has been counted out when it comes to talent assessments. Grit is one quality that wont show up in a stat sheet and is probably a lost quality in the modern player. Let's play smart but also try and lead the league in grit.
Did you see him last night at very end of the game tweak his ankle near the sideline which clearly hurt, but caught up to the game and kept moving. Then with the time out Vitti kind of walked out to meet him to check on him and it looked like he wanted no part of it..... just kept walking to sideline. Very Mamba esque. I'm sure Kobe respects him like he did Steve Blake.
Much props to the Bulldog 2.0 Ronnie Price. I'd still rather see Clarkson get these minutes, but it's clear that's not happening. Ronnie has a real knack for flash. You wouldn't think there'd be so much of that in a 31 year old journeyman point guard. It's really fun and interesting to see. That Rondo-like behind the back fake last night was pretty awesome.
Big props to Ronnie for stepping up lately on the offense. I wasn't sure he had it in him, but he's been rock solid in that department, knocking down open looks.
Anyone else impressed with his on ball defense? I feel, for the most part, he's able to keep his man in front of him and play some respectable D.
For sure. That's definitely why he's gotten the nod over Lin for the starting job. He does a much better job than Lin in that department though Lin is a more versatile offensive threat. But Ronnie's responded with better shooting lately so it's clearly his job to lose at this point.
Price was always an awful 3-pt shooter. I don't know what has has been doing lately, but it's obviously working.
yeah, he threw up bricks just last week wth happened to this guy? He seems like a legit threat now. Maybe Kobe has been doing blood transfusiens or something.
He said in a post game interview that he was a shooter coming into the league, but the changed his game for the NBA. He never shot particularly well, but he did score 24 PPG as a Senior in college.
What happened to Price that required stitches and kept him out of the game afterwards against Portland tonight? Missed it.
He's said he won't wear a mask, but he thinks his nose is broken. He'll see a specialist today some time.
