    Perhaps Chicago when they dump Rondo but obviously only if they keep Wade/Butler and want to compete. Detroit if they trade Jackson. Indiana if they lose Teague could try and bring Hill back. New Orleans if they lose Holiday, to say the Sixers. New York and Sacramento since both their top PGs are FAs. Utah is probably the main team in this to keep him as I doubt they want to lose him as he has been integral to their success this season. This past offseason FA was like the Wild Wild West and wouldn't surprise me if we saw a bunch of moves we didn't expect. A good number of teams could be interested in Hill these days. Some teams could even be willing to make him a really expensive backup - assuming he was more interested in $ than minutes. A bunch of big signings happened last season where I was like "Why? They already have so and so there...".

    FWIW I agree that Hill's contract won't be crazy either but I think Utah will outbid the Lakers.

    I don't know that they'd outbid us, but they might not have to. They're a playoff team, and he's presumably fairly comfortable there. I do think that he's up for a raise to at least $12M per season. BTW, Utah is going to be up to about $90M in salary after they re-sign Hayward.

    When I say "outbid" I mean I think they'll be willing to pay more for Hill than the Lakers would, not so much that there will be any type of bidding war. To go back to my original point, I don't see the Lakers going out and spending a decent chunk of change on an over 30 PG this summer - unless for some reason Chris Paul decides to sign with the team. The projected salary cap for 2017-2018 is 102 million based on articles from this past June. So if Hill is a 12M per year player, then he fits right into that margin for Jazz. The Jazz need Hill a lot more than the Lakers do.

    If Cousins now doesn't resign with the Pelicans, he will lose another 40 million (max would be 4 years and 132 million instead of 5 and 179 million).

    He can sign a three year with an opt out and get the ten year rate maybe. But you're right. Costly.

    Yes you are right too. But there is always the risk to get hurt or just not be as productive. I usually think his age would make it smart to sign a 2-3 year deal and get a looong contract before he gets over 30. But generally people tend to accept guaranteed money first.

    That's why I put the "maybe" in there. This was a hugely costly move for Boogie. Should have been a nicer guy :)

    With the designated player exception, Boogie would have made well over $40M per season.
    He'll now likely be "constrained" to $33M per season.

    Rumor is we're going after Kyle Lowry this summer. This is coming off of the report he wanted to be a Laker years ago but was scared off by our lack of direction.

    I read it, too, but he has a good thing going in Toronto. I'd be terrified of what he's asking, honestly. At 31, not worth it probably.

    I tend to think he's staying... And what would the money be like to get him? If I'm him I'm demanding the same thing Al Horford got. Do we want to pay that? I don't. Not when Jeff Teague could be had for probably 50-75% the cost.

    Not that Lowry deserves to be compared to Deng/Mozgov but in general we should have learned our lesson on giving long term deals to guys age 30+.

    Lowry definitely should stay in Toronto but that's certainly a team to watch this summer. They just gave DeRozan a huge deal last summer, Valanciunas/Carroll/Joseph are earning around 77 million the next 2 seasons and now have Lowry and Ibaka hitting free agency (as well as Tucker and Patterson).

    we should also think very carefully about spending a ton of money on a pg when we already have one.

    i don't see any great FA fits for the lakers this summer, honestly. i do wonder why they didn't bid for noel, though.
