While I think Russell is underrated getting his own shot, he doesn't do it at the level a Kyrie does for example; at the end of the game, you can ISO Kyrie, and he'll make most defenders (Hi Klay) look like a fool.

Fultz has that ability, IMO. He'll put you on skates and can finish with EITHER hand. He's just so darn ridiculous. Take a look at the clips. He's young, too. Draft this stud.

I haven't watched him. Watched 3 games of Ball. I'll make it a point to catch him soon, and obviously in the tourney.

That is a good comparison as far as similarities though Hardaway was better on offense off the dribble...mid-range and off the post. Ball shoots from further out. Back in his prime, even Jordan and Pippen had trouble covering Hardaway one on one. Defense, rebounding and passing...they are on par.

I don't think Fultz is as explosive as Kyrie on the first step, still deceptively quick, but he definitely has the skill, handles, and footwork to get where he wants to, and the elevation on his shot allows him to get his shot off.

If the team wants a player that can create, I agree on Fultz. He gives Russell that finisher that can accentuate his passing and makes it easier for Fultz too. Ball though would provide another facilitator on the floor for everyone Russell included.

In a way, it's like choosing between Johnson and Moncrief all over again...not saying either pick are on the same levels.

From what I've watched, Fultz lulls defenders to sleep. He has carried a less talented team on his own.

I agree. Kyrie also has the unique to combine his quick step with the ability to stop on a dime. You can't defend that.

Agree. Except Fultz can facilitate, additionally. Some of those skip passes he made in the BballBreakdown vid are nice!

The Lakers can't go wrong with either one. Fultz is polished with a balanced overall game. Ball has "star" quality whose talents will lend itself to exciting, up-tempo style. He would be a marketing dream for the front office and Johnson would love him. They would be willing to put up with his father too. :)

My co-worker brought up the latter point to me as we discussed Fultz vs Ball this morning. There have been a good number of examples of college PGs who had to score more in college because of their less than stellar team and they went on to be better facilitators in the NBA than you would have thought. I think Fultz fits here and why I am warming up to him more and more.I've been all about Ball but I would be very pleased with Fultz too.

This is all irrelevant if we don't keep our pick though, so to stay on topic: TANK please.

I'd be happy with Fultz, Ball or Jackson if the Lakers land in the top 3. I like Ball as a better fit, minus his dad, I think the Lakers would take him at 2. Jackson would be best available at 3 assuming the Suns or #2 pick took Ball.

I like Ball, too. I'm just higher on Fultz. IMO, I'd be more inclined to move Russell if we drafted Fultz.

    A few more prospects:

Mathias Lessort- International kid that I like a bit actually. He wants to model himself after high energy rebounders and has a shot at that.
Devonte Graham- I don't think he's an NBA guy. He might be, but if he is it'll start at the G-League level.
Monte Morris- I like him more than Graham. He might be a career 2nd/3rd string type of quality bench guard or could be another G-Leaguer.
Dwayne Bacon- I see Lance Stephenson here. A lot of interesting ability, but does he have the mentality to stick? He's worth a look in the 2nd.

edit- add Semi Ojeleye- I think he's a really interesting player. Right now ranked in the 40s in DE. He's only 6'7", but he's built like an absolute tank. He could be ideal for the new-age small PF that can pick and pop and crash the glass. Worth a look.

Agree...stay the course. I watched as much UCLA games as I can and like watching Ball play. He looks up, zips those passes immediately sometimes without even putting the ball on the floor. Uncanny...

You remember how high we were on Russell, right? Well, I'm higher on Fultz.

I think Fultz is a more complete player than Ball. Fultz has the ability to get to the rim, hit mid-range, hit long distance, make the easy pass, make the tough pass, defend on the ball, defend off the ball...

The biggest question between Fultz and Ball is mentally. Ball is clearly a winner and a leader and it's not as clear Fultz is. Fultz will get frustrated and pout sometimes and by pouting I mean not playing his heart out. You have no worry of Ball ever doing that. However, it's possible that Fultz is just on a truly terrible team and that can be frustrating for a top prospect to be stuck there. The same issues came up with Ben Simmons last year. How much is the losing on those kids and how much is on their team just not being very good?

I'm biased being a Jayhawk but I like Graham a lot. I think he stays another year though.

Thanks for this; I'd love to add a big man that guards the perimeter this draft. Black is very good at it, but I want someone with more size. I'm actually looking for a Clint Capela type out there...
