Why would they hate the Lakers ? Find me the latest relevant C-bag who openly said he hates the Lakers ... KG wanted to come to LA ...
I'm getting on board with this Magic thing. Haven't been a fan of his constant back and forth banter of the past few years. He is getting that sparkle in his eye I used to see when he played. He is all in on this, saying and doing the right things. I like the, you have to take some risk, just be aware of what the risks are and be willing to own them if they don't pan out. If nothing else we can have a summer of excitement and anticipation for what may happen. The last few years it was pretty clear what was going to happen. In my opinion Russell has all-star skills but lacks consistency. I think with Magic, he will either learn to get serious and play the right way or we will have another point guard. The other important aspect of Magic being involved is in helping Luke build the culture he is trying to instill. Magic is going to evaluate the players based on the effort and commitment to winning along with skill and toughness. If players are found lacking these qualities they will be gone. With players kept or acquired based on that criteria we will get better quickly and will be much more fun to watch. Gone are the death throws of a antiquated front office and in with some exciting new and fresh ideas (at least to the Laker front office) that will lead to championship contention and hopefully championships.
I'm with you @Toklat At the very least, there's a buzz about the team. But it goes far beyond that. Magic is savvy, and he has a history of business success. Pelinka seems like he was born for this role, and he's worked incredibly hard to be where he is. Free Agents are suddenly interested in being here, we accommodated Lou's desire to get to Houston, which shows that we're telling FAs we know how to treat our guys even if they're on their way out. It's a very rapid shift in culture, and it's for the better.
If this was before the trade deadline, he could have used it as a threat to light a fire under these guys. They play with no heart and effort out there. Brewer and TRob were the only two that brought it whenever they were out there. JC and Ingram were aggressive offensively too.
