I think so. I said in another thread if the Lakers don't trade Calderon, they should waive him so he can sign with a playoff team. Likely Cleveland. He is an older veteran and deserves a chance at a title rather than wasting away on this Lakers team.mDoing things like this buys good will around the league among players and hopefully is remembered when those players become free agents. Plus frees up a roster spot and the Lakers can go try and look for a diamond in the rough talent from the d-league.
Yea, traded or not..I think he's waived by March 1st so he can sign with a playoff team. He's healthy..solid backup PG for contender.
We should let him go by then if we haven't worked out a trade for a second. I'm fine with him going to Cleveland.
That'd be ideal but they don't have a salary - one that they'd trade anyways - that matches up with the Lakers. Pretty much why articles tying Calderon to Cleveland involve him getting waived first.
So we are going super young huh? Well, if he gets bought out I hope he lands on a playoff team, like Lou and Huertas he's been a pro through all the losing.
In comparison to Calderon sure, but Deron isn't that good anymore. Age, atricion, injuries have kicked in.
