Hollingshead used to have a ton of stuff and beers on tap. Haven't been there in about 5 years though. Once Stadium here in Aliso Viejo started carrying so many obscure beers, the need to travel up to Hollingshead vanished.

This is a really weird hybrid beer that tastes amazing. It's like a huge bourbon barrel aged stout blended with a red wine. The tart tannins of the grapes neutralize the sweetness of the bourbon barrels and the roastiness of the stout. It's like a caramel stout red wine. Crazy but delicious.

It's nice. Toasty cocoa but a bit thin.

Nice sour that's not over the top tart like others from the bruery. Oaky and tart cherries on display.

Really nice imperial stout that retains its toasty, coffee, bitter cocoa profile without becoming like bourbon candy from the barrel aging.

had this on draft over at the RSM Board and Brew. It's REALLY mapley, which is a great thing. I want to find more of this.

Pleasantly surprised for only $2.50. Very refreshing. Tart and a tiny bit of ipa character, though not much. It's different and good.

Holy crap! This tastes exactly like that description. It's liquid baklava that gets you f****d up. Amazing beer that all must try.

That actually sounds really good. I'll have to remember that the next time I try alcohol

Not sure. i got mine at Bradley's is Tustin. They get ALL the really rare s***. Bottle logic is really exclusive and popular stuff that sells out super quick whenever mom n pop shops get it in, but this stuff was not that popular. They still had 30 or so bottles hours after they got their shipment. heck, they may still have some. Maybe this particular one is less popular, meaning that bevmo, total wine, or high time carries it. Call and ask for sure.

Yummy. Really tastes like French toast.

Nice balanced sour. Tart but not too much. Lots of berries and funky oak

This is a really weird beer. It's a barrel aged fruit beer. It's not a sour, it's like a cherry cider with bourbon. It doesn't taste like cough syrup while h is good, but it's not my style. Too sweet and fruity. It's amazingly well done though. Vanilla oaky bourbon cherry is pretty unique.

    That sounds delicious to me.

Tell me, where do you go to try all these unusual beers out? World of Beer?

Mom n pop liquor store in Tustin, OC. Called Bradley's. Bevmo and total wine have great stuff. Never been to world of beer.

Only been to the World of Beer in Connecticut, but it has like 100 different beers on tap, I think they rotate the selection regularly, and they have a ton of different bottles as well. I'm not a huge beer fan, but that's been the only place that I can sample some, and find ones I like

Delicious! Nutty bourbon sweet vanilla. Smooth and a little boozy, but in a good way. Don't drink this and dig fence posts like I did or they'll be a few inches off line. Oh well, worth it!

HA! Never poked my head in this thread until now but right off "World of Beer" catches my eye. And some tasty looking selections suggested by Punk. Definitely going to have to look through here. Have a Bevmo not far away if needed, and have been noticing more craft beers in different stores when I pay attention. Have to get myself some learnin' here. :p

There is a Vons in my area that has the craziest selection of beer I have ever seen in a grocery store. I keep meaning to take a picture of it and post it here because for a grocery store, it is unbelievable. The typical long refrigerator that houses beer? They have that with the better known craft beers...then they have a second aisle long refrigerator with more craft beers, 1/3 of which is all 22 oz bombers.

My 80+ year old grandmother turned me onto Cesars, which is a Canadian Bloody Mary. Vodka, Clamato, lemon juice, pickled pepper brine, worchestershire sauce, tobasco, and rim with beau monde salt or celery salt. Delicious!!!
