Yeah I wouldn't assume we were keeping the pick. I have a strong suspicion we're going to look to make a big splashy move this summer and every pick will count.
Basically. This is why I keep throwing out trading Lou/Young for picks in the context of having more ammo to make moves this summer.
I doubt any GM is calling with a good offer right now though for a youngster. Probably just a few vultures seeing if we're going to Sacramento Kings this whole thing up.
Well, in that case I am relieved that we aren't likely to see some desperation trade shipping out far too much young talent for a "star".
I'm excited, actually. -No more drama and a clear, with-the-times vision. -Trade Lou/Nick for picks. -Keep young core until the summer at the very least. -Continue to lose games and hopefully keep the pick. -But, lose games with youth development now that the drama is gone and there's a fire under their butts. What are these guys capable of when inspired? -Have assets to make some nice trades in the summer and a cohesive and attractive francise to draw FAs.
About time Jim is gone. Overpaying a washed up and injured Nash, post back injury Howard, Dantoni, Brown, scott, Paying deng and mosgov as if they were Shaq and kobe, not trading bynum for cp3 ect ect. Kupchak did some nice things, but its time for a new chapter.
Haha. Your post reads like a you're President of the Ding Hit Piece Fan Club. Revisionist history dialed up to 11.
Talk about signing a guy (Pelinka) who is the exact opposite of what we had in a FA pitch man with Mitch. A guy who has respect in the free agent community will be nice for a change. We can stop being laughed at. I have to say I like Magic's first post-Buss/Kupchak move a lot, it shows some smarts. Now I wonder about the Kobe/Pelinka connection and Magic's desire to involve Kobe somehow.
The Pelinka move I like very much. He is respected by players and knows how to make the right deal (read: "they got ROBed"). Let's see how things continue to develop. I have a feeling Kobe will come back in some capacity. Not sure whether that's a good thing yet, LOL.
Magic is 3 for 3 today. Firing Jim was a no-brainer. Took a hit by pitch for the team. Firing Mitch was the right thing, but a difficult one. Stand-up triple. Pelinka is dramatic. Bases clearing, walk off, grand slam.
