I dunno man, these pro athletes go broke quick. It's not that it's only so much money a person can spend, it's your entire family, friends coming out asking for money for investments, some/a lot going to taxes, and really setting up your family to be well off for generations if you play it right. 200 mil is much different than 150 when looked at that way.
Tax man taking half that. So it's really $75 or $100 million. Would I take $75 million and win several titles vs $100 million on a crappy team? yes. But I wouldn't take $5 million to play for the Lakers over $100 million and play for the team we all hate the most.
DO IT. I'd much rather trade him to Charlotte for a Top 7 protected pick. The Hornets right now would give up the 12th pick in the draft.
I threw out Sessions and a 1st for Lou a while back. I'm all about that. Get it done Mitch.... errrr..... Magic!
The more I read this thread the more hilarious it becomes when someone says unequivocally that a team won't do X trade. We obviously don't know. Here's to humility.
Am I the only one here who thinks their is a good chance MJ really tries to pull off a trade for Melo? Believe me the thought of that makes me nervous because I don't want that to happen. His superstar away comment made me nervous then, but now he's in charge and that's very possible.
Yeah, but do you really think Phil wants our garbage and bloated long contracts? I mean I wish he hates Melo that much but I really don't see it.
With all due respect to Magic, we can't sit here and assume he's the next coming of Jerry West (which IMO I'd love to have back for a few seasons so he can fix us) that guy works miracles! His first trade will tell us a lot of what's to come.
