One of these days I will have to sit through this whole movie. OK, back on topic. :)

Bob Meyers and Neil Olshey were both on the Lakers' list and that's FANTASTIC news.

It's unlikely we get either because we'd have to give up cash or picks or something to get them, but they're good targets and it's good to hear we are going after the best of the best in the field again.

Pelinka is still a really interesting, forward thinking backup option.

Ireland and Ramona bring up a huge point: Magic not being involved in the Boogie trade talks was really, really surprising.

Ramona says the Front Office was actually functioning really well the last couple weeks whereas in the past Jim and Mitch would sort of just go off on their own and do their thing.

I am comparing the situation, if you had read Phi fans forum on realgm, you'd see how many were all gloom/doom after Colangelo took over even with his past success with Pho/Tor. This is the same situation, some of you guys already making seem like this is going to be the end of us and nothing good will come of it. Yes Mitch/Jim got us young talent but how bout we put things into perspective and see how bad we had to be these past 3 yrs to get to that point. We've been hearing stories for yrs how poorly mitch has been in regards to dealing with FA, look at the Aldridge debacle, I mean how embarrasing was that? Of course Magic can burn it to the ground but I'll wait till that day comes before I critize him, his tweets have been awful but I can't judge him till he makes moves

Ramona says you could get a protected 2nd round pick for Nick Young.

Ramona says the FO knows it's vital to keep the pick this year. Ramona says the FO seemed like they were willing to move on from the other kids besides Ingram to get Boogie.

Ramona compared Lou to Kobe in the last couple seasons: sort of a detriment to long-term growth, but good in the short-term.

My buddy told me Magic and Jeannie had no idea about the Ingram / Cousins proposal until it was too late. I wonder what they would have done.

I think I'd rather keep him honestly. Cheap salary, playing well, we don't really need another 2nd.

Well, I can at least say that I fully support moving Lou (who I like and respect as a player) to Washington. Now's the time to do it. Young can stay, we can't really get anything we need for him and he is playing relatively well.

The funny thing was she said it was actually functioning like it was supposed to all along, with Mitch, Jim, Luke, West all talking together and working together. Too little, too late, Jim shouldn't have tried to do things his way or the highway.

After listening to Magic, I don't see any scenario where he would have moved Ingram.

In fact, I'm sort of thinking Magic and Jeanie might have made this move in order to stop any big trade like that from happening at all.

Isn't it sort of shocking to hear that? What planet were Mitch and Jim on to think they could isolate themselves from this?

This is the kind of divide that has fractured the front office from being run efficiently. Maybe Kupchak/Jim Buss felt Jeanie Buss should stay on the business side and that's it. She probably felt that with Johnson on board, at least she's appraised of what is going on and can tie it in with her own responsibilities.

At least the coaching situation has been resolved to start with... No more retreads.

She had been vocal for years about wanting to be more included in the decision making process. My understanding was that Mitch and Jim made all the calls and didn't even include her with the decisions they were making. She was finding news out on the television and radio which is untenable. There's no way a team president should learn the news that way.

We've been hearing people say this for years now, but you can never be sure of what's true. At this point I'm convinced it is true, and yes, it's very disappointing they operated this way. I'm being cautious and wary of Magic, not getting my hopes up for great things until I see results, but even I am happy Jim is gone and the FO is no longer split into groups. Everyone needs to be on the same page and there needs to be a clear direction, and to me that is the best thing about this move. That, and that Phil Jackson for SURE will not be taking over this team.
