wait, is byron seriously coming back? i cant watch the vid i'm done being a lakers fan if that happens. don't want that loser anywhere near this team
i want Magic to do it like this, "..Stu, like i said before, you're fired...be nooooooiiiiiiccceee and clean up your stuff"
If this happens, im not watching a single game. I won't even watch highlights or check the score in the middle of the night. All my Lakers gear goes to charity. I'm being serious.
Jeannie looks kinda shaken on Spectrum, I guess the decision wasn't exactly easy to carry out. At least Magic said we have the right coach in Luke Walton so he's gonna be given time to grow.
Jeannie: "This was a very difficult decision, it was probably so hard for me to make that I probably waited too long, and for that I apologize to Laker fans".
...firing a long time employee and your own brother is no easy task. The rank and file employees too are all shell shocked there as reported.
I'm late to the party but like John said I can't believe we had a Vash sighting!! I like Mitch, I totally respect what he brought the Lakers. He gave us his best. But I think we needed to move on from him. Would I have preferred that it happened at the end of the season? Yes indeed. I wanted to see if he could at least move Lou and maybe Nick for some more pieces. With no one in the driver's seat at the moment I don't think that happens and that's a wasted opportunity in my book. I have no love lost for the canning of Jim. Anyone here knows I wasn't a fan. He had his time and he failed. He will still be an owner and that's better for the franchise than him in charge of Basketball ops. I was on the fence hearing the news about Pelinka because he's an agent, but that is also part of his strength - his closeness to free agents and knowing what they want. Sounds like he could do a good job. I like what I'm hearing about Ryan West staying on and getting more opportunities. And I'm glad the other brothers are still there as they have drafted very well in my opinion. I'm glad Jeannie pulled the trigger on this. Maybe not the best timing, but to be fair, she gave Jim his time even waiting to see what would happen this season. I just think it might have hurt our abilities to get a trade done for Lou or Nick for picks, but we'll see.
Magic said 5 GMs have talked to him already. I'm guessing those are the 5 deals Mitch was working on and they're wondering what the f*** is happening with their trade talks.
Magic says he'll meet with Ryan West and the two young Buss guys to touch base on the future of the franchise. He also is saying he is making the final call on trades the next 2 days... Uh oh.
I gotta feel like they've got a pretty good idea of who they want as GM. Also think that person didn't want to be hampered by any last minute deals Mitch/Jim tried to put together.
Magic just said after this interview he and Luke, Ryan West, Joey, and Jesse will sit down and talk trades, not just on the table, but new ones. Also, he is the one answering the phone and taking to other GMs. I'm scurred.
I wonder if Mitch was offering something to Vlade for Cousins and Magic and Jeannie pumped the brakes and THAT is the deal Vlade was talking about as far as being a better deal?
Pelinka is interesting though. Maybe those talks about Kobe joining the front office weren't just ramblings from Magic.
