I don't know guys... the timing is bad. Really, really bad. I don't trust Jeanie. Now, I'm not sad to see Jim go, but Mitch.... he wasn't perfect but he did great things for the Lakers. I don't feel good about this, but I hope I'm wrong.
Boron being involved in any way shape or form would make me look at this whole thing a lot differently.
I kind of wished he was retained in a diminished capacity but everything has to start fresh... I don't think Kupchak would have settled for a demotion of some form.
Missed my OGs here! Thx for the love. People can call it whatever. Diehards don't support a team that they can't get behind. I wasn't with it then and definitely ain't with it now. Fans can't take blind marching orders from a basketball op that had no idea what they were doing and didn't look in the mirror to change their approach in a new nba. We were old school that didn't believe in evolving, instead choosing to hang on to dear life to a dying generation aka prematurely handing out Kobe's legacy contract. With Magic being Dr. Buss's son that he never had, West Jr. and a player agent GM that has made a living dealing with superstar clients, we reshape our outlook with current players and potential free agents. We probably make this move right now, so that if a deal can't be had, we still sit on a roster that can lock up a top 3 pick in the draft this summer. Nothing goes back to Philly other than 2nd rounders. I feel even if we got Boogie, we probably would have shut him down for the year so that we held onto that pick. Either way, if we choose to play this slow, this is a rebuild that I can get behind...not the lunacy Jimmy and Mitch were shoving down our throats. This ain't with going with something new...rather something proven. Magic, West Jr., Pelinka/Kobe is in with the bold, out with the old!
