And there goes the TD we didn't want to give up. Conservative play kills our momentum. Now they have to onside kick to get
Paid the Bills today. Someone mentioned that the Raiders messed up three playoff chances. K.C., San Fran and the Buffies. This caps a good football weekend along with seeing Philly and Sanchez do an epic fail.
Figured I'd take my mind off a Lakers loss with some Oakland updates. PASSING Derek Carr's 330 completions is 4th best in franchise history, 15 behind Carson Palmer's 2012 season. If he moved there, he would be behind only Rich Gannon (two seasons). Carr's 3112 yards are 15th best in Oakland history. With a strong game, he could finish top 10 (223 needed). Carr's 20 TDs ranks him 18th in Oakland history. He would need 5 to crack to top ten, so that's not happening, but he could tie for 14th with 2 more. Carr's CAREER ranks in passing among Raiders: Completions: 14th Yards: 17th TDs: 16th RUSHING DMC has 521 yards this season, a bummer, but it's 76th best in franchise history. LTM's 387 yards is 97th best. On the bright side, LTM's 90 yard dash was 4th longest in franchise history, behind Pryor and Bo Jackson x2. DMC's 4234 yards are 6th best in franchise history. He would need 161 to pass Marv Hubbard for 5th. Among Raiders with at least 50 rushing attempts, Latavius Murray is 4th in yard per carry, behind Bo Jackson, Vince Evans, Terrelle Pryor. RECEIVING James Jones's 71 grabs are the most by a Raiders WR since 2002 (Myers - TE - had 79 in 2012). DMC has 209 career receptions, tying him with Mervyn Fernandez for 14th best in franchise history. Marcel Reece is 20th with 172 grabs. Denarius Moore's 2169 yards are 21st best in team history. His 17 scores are 18th best. Five current Raiders are in the top 20 in receptions per game in their Raider career: James Jones #1, Rod Streater #12, Mychal Rivera #14, Denarius Moore #18, and Andre Holmes #19. KICKING Jano hasn't had many opportunities for FGs (22), but his 19 connections make his % 8th best in Raiders history. Jano has the 3rd most FGs <20 yards in Oakland history, the most from 20-29, the most from 30-39, the most from 40-49, BY FAR the most from 50+. He has attempted the most FGs, and he has hit the most, and he has the best FG% among all Raiders (except for Brett Conway who was 1/1). He has the most PATs attempted and made. Marquette King's 100 punts is a Raiders record. A sad record, but it's a record. His 4512 yards is second best. His yards per punt (45.1) is 15th best. King is already 7th in career punts, 7th in yards, and 2nd in Yards Per Punt. SCORING Janikowski is closing in on doubling up #2 on the list (Blanda). Jano has 1572 points in his career. Blanda has 863. DMC is 25th in Raiders scoring with 180 points. DEFENSE Charles Woodson is 42nd in sacks (8.5). Tyvon Branch is 43rd and Sio Moore is 46th. Woodson is 10th in career INTs among Raiders (22). He is 7th in yardage on INT returns. He is 4th in Passes Defended, 1st in Forced Fumbles, third in tackles, 4th in assists.
Carr should be on the 2014 All-Rookie Team QB [if there is one] unless Bridgewater edges him out. Raiders projected to pick #3. Torn between a playmaking wide-out [that kid from 'Bama] or that DLineman beast from So Cal.
I'm with you. Bridgewater had a good game, too; so I'm happy Carr responded. It will be interesting. I think OBJ locked up Offensive ROY, but Carr has a shot at second place there, too. I'm thinking DL or WR, too. I'm wondering if we'll deal the pick and try to pick up another early pick in the process. I will add that I'm starting to trust Oakland brass. Last year we picked up Mack, Carr, Jackson, Ellis, and Carrie, who all seem to be capable of being long term starters. Before that it was Hayden, Watson, Moore, Murray, Rivera, and Butler.
His quotes on a losing mentality are revealing. "Here we go again?" This, too: VRENTAS: One of the young guys you’ve worked with closely is Khalil Mack, the No. 5 pick. There was always a tradition with the Giants of passing knowledge down from pass rusher to pass rusher, so what have you passed down to him? TUCK: Nothing with his skills, because he has all the skills in the world. The thing I tell Khalil is just to be patient. Some days, it’s going to feel like it’s very easy, and other days you feel like you’ve never played the game before. He is a very humble young guy who knows he doesn’t know everything, so he asks a lot of questions. It was never really me seeking him out and trying to teach him things. He sought me out. He asked for the locker next to mine; he asked questions during training camp. We talk constantly during the week and during games. He’s made it easy for me, because all I have to do is answer his questions.
The corner is there but the turning is going "Driving Miss Daisy" speed. Patient since '02 no reason to change now. Love how Carrie is manhandling receivers out there. Now if Hayden can just get it together physically and mentally...starters are set.
Won't happen BUT I would like to see the crew just unload on them physically. Let them know that they just got into an old fashioned, bare knuckle street fight. Inflict pain, send them off to the postseason bruised and beat up.
you see this, GC? i thought this was just beautiful http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial&hpt=hp_t2
The Raiders conclude their season against the Denver Broncos. The Raiders are currently seeded 5th in the upcoming draft, but this position is not fixed. They could fall to sixth, or they could climb to (I think) third. The "good" news for Oakland is that they are in a good place for a losing team in week 17. If they win, they conclude the season with 4 wins in 6 games, making them one of the most successful teams in the NFL over that stretch. On the other hand, if they lose, they likely improve their draft position.
