I like hearing the part about makes his teammates better

    And watching defense of awareness

And the deep 3 already in his arsenal

And his play off the ball

    Kid is a baller

Teams like Golden State have several willing and capable passers. I don't think we would suffer if we moved DeAngelo Russell to the two with a kid like that at the one.

I think this is a characteristic of a young player. The tough part is figuring out if this up and down attitude of his is just him being young or is it a pattern that's part of his DNA as a basketball player.

I'm all for taking the best available player and figuring it out but with Jackson I think he can develop into the kind of player we need. I think Lonzo with his personality and the way he plays could do wonders under Luke's system.

It's not just the shot style, it's whether he can get it off over NBA length. It's not all that dissimilar from Kendall Marshall who had to pull up from 35 feet to get a clean look. The secondary question then is can Ball get separation the same way that Fultz can? I don't think so.

That's not to say I don't like Ball, I'd absolutely take him on the team, but his offense is a question mark.

Lonzo's attitude is maybe my favorite thing about him. Unflappable and a leader by example. That's the kind of kid we need out here. I'm not saying I'd take him over Fultz, I'd have to see individual workouts, but there could be a reason Fultz's team isn't ranked... Sort of the same situation as Ben Simmons.

I'm all for Ingram starting at this point over Deng who sucks. Develop the youth!

    Excellent point.

I wonder if they're related? It seemed like we were going to be content to wait until we were mathematically eliminated before we made the jump. Maybe Magic told Luke what the deal was in the FO and that going ahead with the kids would be fine. Like let's say Luke had spoken to Jim and Mitch and they told him he needed to focus on winning until we absolutely couldn't possibly make the playoffs. Then Magic (from Jeannie) tells Luke, "F*** that. Jim is out. Mitch and I already agreed that it's okay to focus on the kids asap."

IF anyone is clinging on to the hope of making the playoffs, it is Jimmy "I'm in the final year of my 'Lakers are going to contend or I will quit' plan" Buss.

Wow! Surprised at this move, but I guess Zu is getting abused too often, and Moz isn't really part of the plan for a key piece for the future.

This news really solidifies that starting Ingram and Black probably was a result of talking to Magic IMO. Too big of a coincidence otherwise.

I agree. This definitely feels like a directive and not a whim of the coach.

I guess the key question at this point is was where does Mitch fall in this?

Very much so, the passing lanes he reads and his quick twitch reactions are impressive from the 2 Live games I have watched

    Forget to ball for Ball!

Also maybe Magic somehow works his magic and we end up with the #1 pick.

I heard that If the Lakers don't convey their pick to the 76ers this year, we benefit by converting a first round pick owed to the Orlando Magic from the Dwight Howard trade into two second rounders. Hence we keep next years first round pick. So it's a win win, give it to Philly keep your pick next year, or keep your pick this year

If we keep the pick this year, Philly gets our 2018 pick. The 2019 pick that was supposed to go to Orlando becomes two second rounders (this year's and next).
If we lose the pick this year, we keep our 2018 pick. The 2019 pick goes to Orlando and we keep our 2nd rounder this year.

The first option is better for sure.

Yup, I broke this down earlier myself and I 100% agree the first option is better.

    Top 3 pick + 2019 1st rounder > 2018 1st rounder and two 2nd rounders. Easy.
