    Kobe, to me, seems to be shooting poorly most games no matter what quarter it is. That said, playing him entire quarters is clearly not helping him at the end of games, he has no legs left. He's old, he needs to be managed better than this. This was my one hope with hiring Byron, that he wouldn't use Kobe like everyone else, for his own advantage regardless of minutes or health. I was sadly mistaken, he's no different than the Mike's.

    I have been disappointed with how he has used several of our players, especially Kobe and Lin. I really had high hopes for Byron Scott considering he used to be a great player for us. Yeah, he can eventually change and adapt as a coach, but running Kobe in the ground isn't going to help anyone.

    Kobe is not playing a 21st season, at this rate he will be lucky to finish out his 20th. Nash was treated like fragile fine china, Kobe is being ridden to death like an old mule, I just don't get it.

    Kobe is not an undisciplined rookie playing the system. Kobe is not a disgruntled vet who feels underpaid and disrespected.

    Kobe is the franchise player and only tangible current reason for ticket sales and relevancy (outside of our past and a loyal fan base). When he is talking constantly about being tired, looking like death warmed up and shooting a low percentage (check out the 1st q shots hitting the front of the rim against Indiana) despite effort, I think the coach has to face facts.

    Kobe will never say he quits. But his body will, because unlike his steely and impossibly stubborn (his greatest strength and weakness) mind it is flesh and blood. I accept that if he is pushed beyond breaking point, only luck will keep him from having another MAJOR INJURY. We have rookies exploding like balloons at a porcupines birthday party, and Byron thinks grit can save Kobe? Watch the ending of the movie Cool Hand Luke. Kobe is like Luke and Byron is like Dragline (George Kennedy's character). "No man can eat 50 eggs" in their 19th season. And of course to quote the Captain "What we have here is failure to communicate." A perfect analogy. Scary.

    Unless Byron can't coach and needs Kobe's intensity at practice, there is no reason for this. And if that's why Byron needs Kobe, it's time to ship his a** out. If a world champion former Laker cannot motivate the current Lakers, he's useless.

    Things Kobe have said:
    - You guys have no idea how much my body aches.
    - I'm exhausted.
    - My legs aren't there at the end of games.

    How logical people interpret this:
    Sounds like Kobe's body is sore. Sounds like he is tired. He should play less minutes.

    How Byron interprets this:
    Hmm...sounds like his stamina improved. He can handle more. Alright Kobe! Lets ramp up your practices!

    I get the feeling Byron could just be trolling the media at this point. He can't be serious about it can he? It's obvious to even the dullest people how tired Kobe is, I can't imagine he's actually going to push him MORE.

    Spot on. Byron's management of Kobe's minutes have been incredibly bad and annoying.

    At this rate he won't make it to the all star break.

    At this point Scott is fully delusional. I am convinced that he sees Kobe with a full fro and number 8 jersey.

    He talks about managing Kobe's minutes like it is a problem that could befuddle Einstein and Stephen Hawking. When somebody is sick and exhausted at the start of the game, they have no capacity for a second wind after a full game. It was obvious to everybody that Kobe was a low percentage especially when the defense was set up for him.

    It is disrespectful to the other players who did make an effort today. It also shows up Byron's inability to create plays for his team. It is not just rookies but experienced players who are getting negated. It is a shame watching Kobe miss, but in the long run the Lakers have to transition out of the Kobe Bryant era of Basketball, not as a slight to kobe, but in respect to our other players. Kobe was sick today damn it. It took away nothing for Byron to put the ball in somebody else's at the end of the game. I could have lived with a Lin or an Ellington brick, and would have respected Scott more. Kobe will never shy away from the shot if asked. Somebody has to be the person to say no.

    I'm swiftly running out of patience with this Kobe situation. It's not that complicated. I know the rest of this roster is uninspiring, but that's your damn job. Inspire them. Lin is playing better, Young will come through more often then not, Ellington is playing well, Boozer is improved. It's time to start trusting the rest of this roster now. Kobe playing this many minutes isn't working for me and it's not working for him.

    Healthy, energetic Kobe gives you the best chance to win. Tired Kobe helps nobody but Father Time.
