I did not expect Green Bay and Pittsburgh to get blown away. Now it's a great offense of Atlanta against a solid but underrated defense in New England. Falcons have a better offense than the Steelers. Belichick and Patricia will scheme to take away Jones but Ryan has other options that can produce. Head says New England but I'm rooting for Atlanta.
I expect NE to win and I admit Brady is a truly great QB, but I'm partial to Montana and another SB win will give Brady fans more ammo. So, please Atlanta, just WIN!
Patriots, last I checked, go in as a three point favorite... Should be a great game. It will be on the Falcon defense.
That was the biggest choke job I've ever seen, wow. But I will give credit, because they gave Brady too much time, and he calmly shredded them. He's the best I've ever seen. He and Belichick are the best of all time IMO, pains me to say it, but 7 super bowl trips, 5 wins, over 15 years or so. Dynasties in pro football don't last that long, they just don't, it's not supposed to happen. Oh and as much as I hate the Patriots I may hate Goodell more, so watching him get booed and have to shake Brady's hand was fun.
Pats were down 16 and had the ball and just had that look. Everything was connecting. I told my friends, "here come the Pats" and I swear, I just knew they were gonna win. Falcons were up 8, 3 minutes to go, and were in FG range and called a pass play. Got sacked, out of FG range, and the rest is history. Who was the bozo who called those plays and got passive? The new head coach of the 49ers. FML!!!
Oh I knew it was over as soon as the Pats converted the 2 point conversion like nothing and made it 28-20. They were marching downfield without resistance, Brady was picking them apart after being thrown around all game, his receivers made some crazy catches, especially the almost interception one. Falcons got scurred and Brady and Belichick had been here before and that was that.
C'mon now .... I doubt you would have put a couple hundred bucks or other type of serious wager on the Pats just yet at that point. . How could anyone when the biggest comeback in the long history of the game to win had only been 10 points like 3 times, and as you say a miracle catch had happened on that drive and time was still very short. Just teasin' you. Unbelievable game and finish by Brady and the Pats. Wow!
Blowing a 25 point lead will be difficult to get over for Atlanta and could affect them heading into the upcoming season. The Seahawks went through such a thing after blowing their chance against New England. They haven't been the same in a while. Ryan made a mistake taking a sack in field goal range and a holding call made matters worse. In the end, it was too much for the young Falcon defense to deal with.
The past two patriots superbowl victories have come partially (i mean, gotta give the pats major credit for taking care of business like a machine) at the expense of the other team choosing a passing play instead of the obvious run call. First seattle at the goal line, now atl taking a sack in fieldgoal range up 8 with 3 mins left.
^^ 2 plays is the difference between Brady being 3-4 in the Super Bowl and not 5-2. Huge difference. I'm a Joe Montana guy, but it's hard to argue against Brady now. 2 freaking plays.
Sark goes from shamed, unemployed alcoholic to OC of Bama and now back in the NFL...all within a year or so talk about a comeback story lol
I'm not sure how this happened. I remember when he was fired, the talk was his career is basically over. If Atlanta starts slow next season because the defense is failing, but the offense is on track, he could see himself as the head coach of an NFL Football team (albeit and interim one).
