President Obama just gave his final speech.
What grade do you give his presidency?

    I give him a solid D.

    Some facts:
    The good:
Bin Laden killed by SEALs during his presidency
Gay marriage passed by Supreme Court during his presidency
Affordable Care Act passed by Supreme Court during his presidency (I know this one is polarizing, but he promised it and delivered it, flawed as it is)

    The bad:
95 million out of the labor force (highest ever)
$19.95 Trillion debt (almost doubled in his 8 years)
1st President since Hoover to not have GDP above 3% in his term
Only president to have our country at war every day of his tenure
Won the Noble Peace Prize while bombing 8 different countries
Race relations are the worst in my lifetime and probably since the mid 60s (that one isn't based on fact, but my opinion)
He had 2 American's killed without due process (one was a minor). This is easily my biggest complaint with him. If Trump did this he'd be impeached today (IMO).
Benghazi (failure to respond) and the cover up
His desire to get out of Iraq too soon created a vaccum (ISIS)
Police killings up 10 percent in the past year

    Legacy:
    First black president
    ObamaCare
Democratic Party is in disarray (lost so many seats in House, Senate and state levels (close to 1000 total)).
ISIS (who he referred to as the JV Team)
America was so ready for a change from Obama, they elected Trump

My list is off the top of my head. If you have anything to add in any section, feel free. All I ask is that everyone be fair and respectful.

One more thing: I think he's one of the greatest public speakers ever. EVER! Even his biggest critic has to admit he's a great orator (prepared, not impromptu).

O for Overrated. I do agree. A phenomenal speaker and charismatic.

Alas I think his talks were great but his actions were lacking.

I also agree with you that he created a more divisive America.

Abdulrahman al-Awlaki. He deserved a better president. But I bet 95% of the American public doesn't know anything about him. But let Trump do it and they'll know.

I'm really glad The Aggressive Progressives are calling out Obama for this and I hope they did when it happened.

^^^ I remember the DWS and Gibbs answers, but I didn't know it was TYT who asked the questions and posted the video. Props to them. Otherwise I would've never known about it.

I think it was a disaster, but I also think it can take many years for some decision's impacts to become clear. I hope whoever we have in power is wildly successful, but I disagreed with the government getting involved in healthcare.

Huge organizations simply cannot perform certain functions cost effectively, but especially when it isn't their core business.

It's amazing because that line right there seems obvious to anyone with even half a brain, but the country continues to think the government can "save" them.

Makes me even more angry the Libertarian party didn't take s*** seriously and threw a man with the IQ of an anteater out there. This was the election to really make some headway and they decided to roll out the same dude as always. All the people in charge of the third parties in this country need to stop b****ing and moaning about this two party system and they need to look in the mirror and acknowledge their inability to make a case for themselves.

That's on Trump. If he'd learn to stay off Twitter and not respond to every ridiculous accusation.

Let the results speak for yourself.

Government involved in large institutions that are geared for profit is the worst way to do things... competition and proper regulation can help people get affordable healthcare, not govt providing it....

Fannie and Freddy need to be privatized, the healthcare industry can be regulated by the govt, but it needs to be a privatized industry... private industry is the right way to allocate capitol and keep costs down, not more government

As for Obama... I was 18 when he was first elected, and I voted for him... didn't know his politics, I just knew he was a young minority who was a symbol for change and hope... 4 years later, and with me getting involved in politics more, I decided to vote for Romney... I liked his conservative principles more...

I'd say Obama gets a report card of a C...

    The bad:
-Lots of flawed and failed foreign policy
-Stimulus package that was supposed to fix our infrastructure, but we still have outdated bridges, roads and public services...
    - govt involved in healthcare
    -govt involved in student lending
-govt involved in social issues that shouldn't be a federal govt issue
    -racial division
-respect for police/authority figure at an all time low
    -Benghazi
    -the deficit doubling
-little to no growth in the economy
    The good:
-excellent speaker, dude is a helluva public speaker
-bin laden killed during his tenure
    - didn't allow the country to go into chaos during the financial crisis
-flawed system, but got his healthcare plan out there
    - seemed relatable
    - charismatic, def a celebrity president.

I can't blame Trump for using Twitter. It for sure helped him get elected and does provide a direct connection to his target audience avoiding a clearly unfriendly media. That said, the man would be well served to find the missing filter between his initial thought and the fingers typing out his tweets.

Agreed. I don't mind Trump using Twitter. It's the modern form of communication. He just needs to be more presidential, and not feel the need to reply to every critic.
