Naturally, I haven't seen or heard much on Durant's statements on anything ESPN related.

They had it as a topic on Around the Horn yesterday, that was pretty much it. I think one guy laughed it off and said he said "a guy LIKE Kobe" but not actually Kobe. I believe Cowlishaw said it was just like with Jeter's farewell tour, but instead of giving Kobe gifts, guys are saying nice things about him, and he referenced Dirk's comment as well.

Pretty much what we already know, reporters hate Kobe, they don't really know Kobe other than what other reporters write so it's a vicious circle, and ESPN only likes to set up Kobe topics to be pretty negative. They set up the question for some reason as would Kobe work in OKC. So it left the one LA panelist in Plaschke to of course say Kobe is untouchable, and another smart-a** Kobe hating NY reporter that only repeats the company line on Kobe, in Kate Feagan, to say of course not because there's only one basketball.

Another one of them said the real aging superstar you want in OKC is Ray Allen because he can camp and shoot, which I agree with, but again, the questions are posed to sway negative with Kobe. These are added reasons why the general public dislikes Kobe IMO, they are fed daily from the media that he's a selfish jerk and nothing more.

ESPN is to Kobe what CNBC is to Republicans/Fox News is to Democrats. Small bits of news mixed in with propaganda.

That is essentially what I was talking about on the other page... The Media has to devalue Kobe because if they really evaluated him like they did everyone else it would be hard to argue against his place on the all time list. The current company line is "Top 10"
