I agree, but it feels like such a shame now, because I feel like her character was going to have a more important role from stuff I've heard. If there was any hope of redemption for Kylo Ren I felt like Leia would be the one involved. I really saw her and Luke being the characters to guide the new characters in their roles and pass the torch, give a good end to the Skywalker story. I saw Luke bringing the Jedi back, and Leia being that leader of the resistance, the rock keeping them going, and some really epic storylines concluding in episode 9. If we've been robbed of that it is an absolute shame.

Obviously these are just movies and the loss of life is what's tragic here, but she's so connected to the character I just feel we didn't only lose the person, but some great stuff she still had to give to the role and the fans. It's sort of like Heath Ledger, he was supposed to be back as the Joker in the Dark Knight Rises, and we were robbed of that, and it could have truly been epic instead of the movie we got, which fans are very divided on. If they now have to go in and reshoot the ending of Episode 8, tack on some Leia death that's shoehorned in, and rewrite 9 and go in a new direction possibly, give us a weaker story because of this it's just that much sadder, because Fisher deserved to be a part of this and see it through to the end. 2016 has just taken too many great artists and legends, way too many.

Yeah. 2016 decided that the "Deaths always come in threes" rule was antiquated. 2016 started the brand new "Deaths come in seven or eights" now.

Debbie Reynolds has followed her daughter into the Force. She died of a stroke at age 84.

Is the movie good? Was it worth seeing? Been out of touch with life recently on an animal rescue ranch without regular internet or cell phone service unless I drove to town in a truck that topped out at 35 mph.

If you like Star Wars then absolutely.

If you don't like Star Wars, then I don't know.

If you don't have an opinion of Star Wars either way, I'd say it's probably still fun.

If you're talking about rogue one, I thought it was excellent. I enjoyed it more than the force awakens.

To each their own. I really loved the Force Awakens a lot more... Just more memorable characters that you can latch onto. I saw Rogue One today. It was a really great movie, and I thought how they slipped it into the main plot of the series was done extremely well... My only problem was I could not really attach myself to any of the characters... The Imperial Robot that was working with the rebels was probably my most favorite character of the film, but the others were just meh.....

But nonetheless, thought it was an excellent movie... Disney has done a helluva job with the Star Wars series... And I really feel the films took on a much darker tone than its predecessors....

Juronimo, what did you like about Rogue One more than the Force Awaken? Just curious.

I agree, I think that R1 deffinately did some things better than TFA, but overall the shine of TFA and JJs signature touch makes it more enjoyable.

I agree with this except I really liked Donny Yin's character as well as K2.

I thought both carried the movie to some extent

Saw it yesterday. Really enjoyed it, and thought it was a bit better than TFA. I enjoyed TFA, but it was a little stiff to me, and I felt they mishandled the whole Kylo Ren thing.

I liked every character in this one except for Saw for the reasons others have pointed out above. K2 was great. Donny Yen, who is one of my all time top 5 Kung Fu movie actors was great. But, I would have preferred a scene explaining that he was Force sensitive though not a Jedi. The Vader scene was eye popping. I really liked that everyone died in the battle.

    Sort of a SPOILER WARNING

Here's a trailer for the second half of Star Wars Rebels: Season 3. If you have not watched the series at all and plan to, you might want to skip this trailer as things are showed that would spoil plot points in earlier episodes. Looks awesome and the last few seconds of the trailer promises something special.

Looks really good. I'm hoping this show starts actually having stakes soon. I like it, but in order for it to fit well with the pre-ANH Alliance we need to start seeing things get bleak for our plucky Rebels.

Well, we know from Rogue 1 that Chopper and likely Hera will make it through the show unless Rebels extends past A New Hope

Yeah but there's no way that Kanan and Ezra should. If they exist it means there's still hope for other Jedi which we know is untrue because Luke is the last hope. The rest I think are fine characters, but would honestly be best served as fodder to make us feel hopeless when Rogue One starts.

Totally agree. But killing off those two in a kid's show? Damn. I know Disney took a bit of a step outside their comfort zone with Rogue One (granted I heard they cut some stuff that was too violent), but there are going to be a lot of kids watching Rebels that never saw the original trilogy and won't understand why they decided to kill off the two leads of their TV show. And telling them that a movie that came out in 1983 said this Luke guy would be the last of the Jedi isn't going to suffice as an answer and they may not watch whatever Star Wars cartoon comes next. It's tricky. They either have to jump through hoops continuity wise or they risk alienating the kid demographic.

Oh there's an easier fix: send them (and Thrawn) out to the unknown regions. That's waaaaay more likely, but also way less interesting. Realistically Rebels should finish on a horrible note. Given that Hera and Chopper make it to Rogue One, they really should be the only ones to survive and the show should get deep into it. That gives Rogue One and A New Hope even more depth and desperation. It lends itself to the story. Maybe just kill one even. Unfortunately I bet they send Kanan and Ezra on a mission and those two just don't come back. Maybe kill Zeb and then leave Sabine on Mandalore or something. It's less violent, but would wrap the show up at least and would lend itself to more stories which Disney/Lucas will want.

Kanan and Ezra most likely have to die, sorry, kids are just gonna have to learn about death and deal with it. There can't be any Jedi left when ANH comes around, so they either have to die, or they have to stop being actual Jedi. There are no Jedi in the world of ANH other than Obi-Wan and Yoda, and by RoTJ Yoda tells Luke that when he dies Luke will be the last Jedi. Yoda could feel if any were still around, we've seen how strong he was in the force through the final season of Clone Wars. Also, I love that Obi-Wan is back, but nobody can refer to him by that name, it's off limits. Mail is gonna have to call him simply "Kenobi" like he always has (which I now suspect they did on purpose for this reason), and if Ezra or Kanan or anyone else interacts with him they have to call him master Kenobi too. When he says in ANH that Obi-Wan is a name he hasn't heard in a long, long time, they need to respect that canon.
