Is he a "big white stiff" when he outplayed D. Jordan 2 nights ago and helped end the 11 game losing streak against the Clippers, or any of the other times (not saying all the time) he plays well? Uncalled for remark?

No wonder Lebron was the only Cav who didn't congratulate Moz when he received his ring.

LBJ knows Moz is trash :Noddingyes:

If he didn't miss his dunk, we would be going to overtime. Missing a dunk by a mile at 7 feet like twice in a week is pretty weak.

Actually Lebron personally tweeted him when Moz signed with us. I like Moz, been doing a fine job in my eyes and playing within the system.

I'm willing to trade him at the deadline IF we're 6-7 games out of the 8th spot.

How about this for the armchair GM Moz bashers? Who is the guy you wanted in here as a big man free agent acquisition this year and what did he get paid going elsewhere ..... that was going to be better for what Luke freaking Walton wanted to do? Who was THAT guy that was / is this year better than what Luke was able to get to help him do what he wanted to do? Let's hear. Put up or zip it. Tired of just hearing the bashing of his weaknesses and completely ignoring all the more good things he's doing while knock on wood staying healthy.

i'm not a moz basher at all, but i think one counter is: sign nobody/go cheap. dwayne dedmon was signed at a fraction of this by the spurs. is he a starter? no. does it matter when you're going to win a third of your games anyway? no. does he kill flexibility going forward? no.

my hope was to get barnes and bogut like the mavs did, but that obviously didn't save them.

i do think the deng and moz contracts are going to hurt in a couple years, but i was also of the mind that the team needed to stop rolling over cap space and try to commit to some degree of continuity in system and personnel. if luke was on board with both, then you do it.

That's a fine strategy if you're angling for draft position and you doubt your team can go anywhere. But if you think you have the building blocks to make a decent team now, and a contender down the road, you have to make moves to solidify every position. The fans would not be satisfied with standing pat after a 17 win season.

The result of going cheap and standing pat could have been watching our team get dominated every game at the center position, which Moz prevents for the most part.

I love Black and Robinson, but they are too small to stop these big starting centers in the NBA playing excessive minutes. They are perfect for small ball, but small ball can't be your corner stone. It's too exploitable long term, unless you have some exceptionaly talented ball players.

First rule of business, you dont overpay for s*** when its s*** just because you cant get something of value. spending 18 mil for a stiff who gives you maybe 1 good game every 6th game and worse, hinders your team for the other 5, and on top of that giving him 4 years, well, you know what I'm gonna say next. And my other thought was, who the hell was going to pay him that money at 12:01 anyways? The answer is no one, but the Lakers apparently.

At least with Deng there was lineage there. Deng was a 2 time all star who was spoken very highly of by every team he has been on and could give the Lakers some experience with all the young guys. Mosgov wasnt even valued enough to play in the playoffs for more than 4 min. I just don't get it and never will.

Bull s***. See there you go with nothing more than hyperbolic bashing. You seriously would stand there in a debate with Walton and tell him that for what he wanted and the Lakers could even hope to get on the FA market .....for a solid Big man (to play against Big men when not going small ball) to play the way HE wants, as certainly promised him in his head coach sales pitch from Mitch and Jim, that Mozgov is nothing more than s***? Who was the guy that was expected then and has proven this year, that we could have gotten, who's doing better the stuff listed below that I copied from another post cause I'm not typing it again. Name him armchair coaching / GM genius. You got nothing but irrational hate.

"The only thing he's really not very good at is rebounding or jumping very high. Though he can get up "occasionally" in certain situations.

Runs the floor well .... check. Can shoot the mid range very well ... check. Hits his free throws ....check. Sets great picks ... check. Rolls well to the basket and most of the time finishes well (yeah just like everyone else flubs those some times) .... check. Is there to body up and wrestle pretty evenly with the likes of Boogie Cousins and other big centers when needed and at more minutes those games .... check. Has good touch with both hands down low for the most part .... check. Not a bad passer .... check. Way more dimensional than Biyumbo for what Walton wants out of him .... check."

Adding ..... Smart player and "great" teammate ....check.

I'll put it simple. The Lakers would have the same exact record without Mosgov being on the roster. Therefore, his value is 0.

No that's BS and a cop out. Excuse for you to continue bashing and being annoying about it without facts to back up.

I'll add one more area he's weak and most Big men his size are too .... difficult for him to hedge the P&R's.

3 out of 14 important things we would love to be able to have our Big Man option be able to do. Scoreboard. Stop telling me I'm blind and stupid by saying he's a stiff and s***. How about coming strong and de-bunking any of what I said in the other 11 areas he's playing well? You can't. Every player in the league has off nights, average nights, good nights and hopefully some great nights.

I disagree with both the reasoning and the conclusion.
