Good lord, we get it. You don't like Mozgov. We get it. Everyone doesn't agree with you. Everyone doesn't agree with me. I was Hoping we could have a little sense of humor about the difference of opinion, but never mind.
sorry there's not much to like, and while Zu hasn't done much I would still hold hope he could be a much better product/player than Mozgov.
He seems more athletic than Mozgov, to be honest, and one of Mozgov's greatest limitations is that he's glued to the floor. So there's hope.
Yeah me too. But much as I like Zu's soft hands, coordination and size for his young age, especially down low where the leverage counts, right now he does most everything at a slower pace than Moz. Yet it's always Moz getting slammed with this "big white stiff" attitude by the haters. The only thing he's really not very good at is rebounding or jumping very high. Though he can get up "occasionally" in certain situations. Runs the floor well .... check. Can shoot the mid range very well ... check. Hits his free throws ....check. Sets great picks ... check. Rolls well to the basket and most of the time finishes well (yeah just like everyone else flubs those some times) .... check. Is there to body up and wrestle pretty evenly with the likes of Boogie Cousins and other big centers when needed and at more minutes those games .... check. Has good touch with both hands down low for the most part .... check. Not a bad passer .... check. Way more dimensional than Biyumbo for what Walton wants out of him .... check. By the way I don't recall anyone here referring to Hibbert last year as a "big black stiff". Yeah there's always that too around here at times.
Yeah, my point was that Right now, we'd have two players at every position if Zu develops because as much as I like him, Zu is not as good as Mozgov yet. He would get abused by NBA starting centers at this point. The comparison was more about size, and length.
His defense was atrocious. Really created problems around the rim for the team. The worst of it was he didn't get it was his fault and was berating the guards or the help man for his own deficiencies.
Not real thrilled to read he has a blame others visible attitude on the court if he is the one at fault.
WTF ..... let me pick a nit from last night with this guy. Just an observation about his "good teammate" quotient. Zu comes into the game finally and seems not sure who his man is or something like that. Seems to be asking for help from Robinson in that regard. Robinson "seems" like he doesn't know or more like he doesn't give a bleep about helping Zu. Not like these two guys are direct competitors other than for minutes as the season goes on. I just thought it wasn't a "good teammate" look to his body language. And remembering someone else commenting after one game how he had blown something defensively and yet was "pointing fingers" at someone else. I do like Thomas on his own, how he has been trying to and sometimes succeeding to expand his repertoire of offensive skills and moves. Of course his motor and effort.
Bumping this thread for MosterMash. TRob with some good hustle minutes. Nice to see him get some burn and take advantage of his time. Great dunk also.
Keep this page going. The guys that bring it everyday are the ones that will help get this ship going in the right direction. TRob is a keeper.
Maybe we start keeping the Ed Davis and Thomas Robinson type players valued more highly. Bet that is the case. Of course talent needed too. I recall him being assessed here as not being all that good either on defense when he was getting burn during the run of injuries.
Put him in for Randle when Randle starts being lazy out there. He hustles out there but he does sometimes try a little too hard offensively.
seems to produce in limited minutes and limited appearances I remember paying attention to when we gave him an extended run, and he tapered off and seemed to play like everyone else. Maybe his motor is best used sparingly as that occasional spark off the bench. Cheap contract, solid guy, good practice player, professional, needs a home. Hopefully we can keep him in that role as third string, as he could fill a gap for awhile if someone went down by injury far better than the Sacres of the world every could.
