    Calling someone a racist because you disagree with them is a lazy way out. Highly offensive. And not needed here.

    We can discuss, argue, and debate without name calling. In the video link I posted earlier they talk about how we have much more in common than we think. Mature discussion will lead you to this conclusion. I guarantee it. After that we can look for ways to bridge the small gaps.

    I understand the difference. But anyone can make a candidate's election to office personal. A strong Bible believing Christian can look at a Pro Choice candidate as a threat to millions of unborn babies. I mean, the views in this country can be so extreme on certain issues, anyone can figure out a way to take it very personal. You and I both know most white people who voted for Trump were not affirming their support of oppression in voting for him. Just like the millions of American's that voted for Hillary aren't in favor of deep seeded corruption at the highest levels of our government. So unless they know the Trump supporter they attacked is an active KKK member, they are acting on pure ignorance and stupidity.

    Like the article I posted earlier alluded to, the whole "Trump and everyone around him is racist argument" is a big reason we have him as our president elect. Calling someone a racist or a xenophobe or a whatever when they are not is a great way to anger them to the point where the "F You" vote comes into play.

    I'm not saying they're right, but come on, you must understand there's a huge difference in your example and mine.

    Obama didn't say he wanted to build a wall to keep Christians out. Obama didn't say he didn't want to allow Christians into the US. Trump directly said he wanted to do things to directly effect these people's lives. How do you not see the difference there? It's personal because Trump SAID he was going to do things directly to certain people. This wasn't an abstract notion. These people are feeling threatened because if a person belongs to any of the many groups Trump said he was going to do X to, they were directly threatened.

    Trump said he wanted to do things that effect their lives, but these are not US citizens he's talking about. He's a Nationalist. America First! Large part of why he was elected.

    Now, I'm not naive enough to think his words don't have weight. The kids in the school chanting "build the wall" was offensive bullying that I didn't like one bit. And I'll give Trump the credit he deserves on that (not in a good way). But saying we're going to enforce the current laws (immigration) is smart, IMO. Saying he's going to vet the Syrians coming in is smart, IMO. BTW: Carter did the same thing to Iran and he got the Noble Peace Prize.

    Trump was the pitbull everyone prodded, degraded and pushed and he wrecked everyone. Like him or not. He is a baaaaad man. How the hell did this happen? He took out the donkey AND the Elephant. Never seen anything like this. Unbelievable.

    He did. Everyone laughed that he destroyed the GOP and then he (and WikiLeaks) exposed the DNC. How did an outsider do it? Well, everyone said they wanted change and an outsider. But Trump isn't polished. He's a horrible public speaker. He's a flawed man. How did he do it?

    I have a few ideas, but this is something people much smarter than me are trying to understand. And the GOP and DNC are both scrambling to find out so they can win the next election. Because he broke both parties.

    I'm not arguing the validity of the argument, just saying what Trump said he wants to do, he said he is going to do directly to certain groups and of course they would feel threatened.

    Saying I am going to do X to you is not equivalent to not agreeing with a policy like abortion funding.

    Tell you what Johnny, I don't think they are that much smarter than you. Believe me, I believe there is WAY too much emotional decision making in life. And when you make decisions off emotions, you degrade your intelligence. I think those who were so emotional about who they wanted, vs those who were quiet and reserved and didn't say anything, it made a difference. That's why the polls were so off. Trump voters didn't say anything. I think a lot of it was fear of being called bigots, regardless they stayed quiet and when the time came, they Trump'd the system and boom, here we are.

    The major challenge for trump will be delegation. He is a very hands on operator. So, that will be something I will watch out for. All in all, if he can accomplish really protecting the country and creating those jobs he says he will, than his presidency will be a success. I hope he doesn't waste a lot of time on abortion and gay marriage and all that stuff that usually ends up being just sand shoveling into the ocean. We will see.....

    That and Term Limits on Congress. I really want him to do that. Probably not any time too soon, as he has a super majority and needs them right now.

    I don't live in US, as you guys know, so this is only tangentially relevant to me, but I thought that for many the issue is pretty clear.

    You can't really say "I like Trump's platform, despite bigotry, racism and chauvinism". They overshadow and negate everything else, and should be a stopping point for any decent human being. And yes, it, in my opinion, trumps (heh) supporting a crook.

    Basic human rights should always come first. Before anything else.

    The fact that kids in school shout "Build the wall" is a first indication that Trump gave legitimization to being a bigot of any kind. It is now OK to be a d*** to someone based on their religion, race, whatever under the pretense of "enough with the PC crap".

    This is going to be a horrible presidency you all will want to forget within a year. Some of you already do.

    P.S.

    All the supposed evidence to Trump actually not being any of the "bigot, racist, chauvinist" is irrelevant.

    Uninformed people all over the world see him as such. So do those stateside. That all that matters at this point. There is a perception. And that perception gives green light to bigots, racists and chauvinists to act upon their "beliefs" under the cover of "my president does it, so it must be OK".

    There are a lot of smart, decent people who voted for Trump based on other parts of his "platform". I don't blame them.

    They've had a lapse in judgement.

    I'm gonna wait but I think it won't be that bad. He will build that wall, repeal Obamacare just like he promised and then get down to business... the US economy will improve and there would be less U.S intervention around the World. Trump does not care about making money for himself, I think he'll surprise most after his term
