Did Gary Johnson lose it for Hillary?

He had a decent percentage in swing states that may have gone to her, namely Florida.

But her campaign really didn't focus on demographics that weren't already going to vote for her, and that's why I think she lost.

We'll see how long the Republican's can stand Trump in office, themselves.

He helped her. As much as I disagree with libertarians, without Gary Johnson Hillary would have lost some of these states by 4-5 points instead of 1-2 pts.

FYI, she's winning the popular vote right now. Not that it really matters.

If he's able to somehow get Congressional term limits passed, his presidency might honestly be worth it.

It's going to be really interesting to see the entirety of exit polling from the elections. Initial results show the supposed Latino surge kinda happened, but not really. Arizona was closer than expected, but she barely hung on to Nevada and Colorado.

The supposed gender gap turned out to be a complete farce. Donald Trump did pretty well with women all things considered.

Minority voting was down in places like North Carolina and the big consensus surprise of the election are whites, specifically blue collar workers in the Rust Belt region showing up to vote in droves.

The irony in all this is that poor blue collar whites will never get paid 50k a year to pound metal into a shape. In 4 years the Rust Belt will be just as poor, if not poorer.

I'm also curious to see if he's going to keep his promise and actually jail her.

    Still in shock...ugh

he won't keep any of his promises aside from probably repealing obamacare

the DNC won trump the election. over 5 million voters who voted for obama in 2012 did not vote for clinton. not to mention that trump did far better in the minority vote than anyone could have imagined.

and that right there to me is the most clear example of how flawed clinton was. she had no appeal and her shady background turned people off to her while the candidate who had appeal and was the one who would have defeated trump was sabotaged by the DNC.

older, lower-middle class, non-college educated whites had the loudest voice during this election which was something that wasn't the case the past two elections where younger minorities had the loudest. another clear example of how flawed clinton was. many of the young people who didn't vote, voted 3rd party, or voted trump would have no doubt voted for bernie if he was running

also, lol at the electoral college once again costing the democrats

He did well in those areas that Obama did well in 8 years ago: the disenfranchised labor union workers that have been utterly screwed over.

He can bring back some manufacturing jobs, but not many. Those people don't need manufacturing, they need education and opportunities.

the one thing that actually worries me about a trump presidency is the environment

it's pretty clear he and his administration won't give 2 craps about the environment and that is scary

It depends. Seems to be all the rage lately (at least a lot moreso than previous generations), so if that means extra money is involved, he may just take the opportunity to cash in.

Now that he's elected, will he release his tax documents as promised?

What if he defunds a program like Planned Parenthood? That can't be good.

Someone in a group discussion on CNN about an hour ago mentioned how they thought Hillary hurt herself by campaigning so hard for why Trump was bad and not more about her own policies. They said something like Trump's negative qualities were already blatantly obvious and didn't need that much addressing. Then I thought back and couldn't remember any of what Hillary was promising to bring and thought maybe they were right. She was an Obama 3rd term, same old same old. They also pointed out how they didn't go out and visit the places they thought they had in the bag enough, while Trump did, that Hillary'a camp wasn't confident, they were cocky. Seems that did indeed cost her. I had no dog in this, I sat back and enjoyed the show, and just didn't want Hillary as president, at any cost, so I'm feeling fine today.

I feel like as much as this probably doesn't mean much in the end, it still feels like a blow to the establishment today, a kick in the junk to Washington all comfy and set in their ways. Here's Trump, have fun with that, I dunno it makes me laugh. I feel like so much of his big talk was just that, talk, I don't honestly worry about him having nuclear codes and such, there are people that really run the show that won't allow a loose cannon president to do something to end the world. I am sure Russia and China are laughing as well and loving this though, so that's probably not great. I dunno, I'm pretty new to politics, but the reactions in California like therealdeal pointed out, are over the top funny. Worst of all are the celebrities, crying and saying we should move to other countries.

I feel like wikileaks killed her and just poured gasoline on the middle-class/working class anger that fueled Trump's win. In a lot of ways I feel like not a lot of folks actually liked him, but liked her less.

Deplorable. (I did too, but I was there more for the local election issues). I'm not a Trump fan, but the day will never come that I voted for Hillary.

I think so too. My sister is a liberal and when I asked her what she thought about the WikiLeaks stuff she paused and asked "what are you talking about?" She really had no idea. I think many on the Left ignored it. That was their undoing. Well, that and nominating a career criminal.

Lady I know on the left thought all of it was lies, manipulated video, etc.

She mercilessly made fun of me for considering YouTube videos and a number of other sources as legitimate news LOL

I think the DMV assumed that they could ignore wikileaks and that it would go away. That's what politicians have done in the past and it worked. But as the Donna Brazile situation demonstrated after a while folks took it very serious.

Wiki hasn't released one lie, that I'm aware of. Here's the beautiful thing: Now that Trump is in office they'll go after him and the GOP Congress and I can't wait. Get em!!! And my hope is that the Democrats will see the value in Wikileaks and that the GOP won't forget. And future politicians will be on notice that we won't accept it.
