Yeah. He and Clarkson on the floor at the same time makes for some porous defense. Ultimately, our future rests on Russell and Ingram as I think Clarkson is best suited as a sixth man and Randle will end up being a very good role player.

like the outlet pass in the highlight reel. court awareness!

and no, i'm not trying to say he's on par with randle, just that he does a couple of things randle doesn't.

He's not a big leaper, he has a quick hop. Looks like his range is only around the rim, much like Tarik.

Tarik seems to be a better finisher despite being undersized.

Yeah, but Randle has pass, dribble, and finish better. Robinson in my opinion is just slightly more athletic and is a better defender. But even that might be saying too much after all the work Randle has put in this Summer. Thomas has had what 3-4 summers to try and get better with no major breakthroughs.

Pass/dribble? Maybe. Finish around the rim? Doubtful. Robinson has never had a season with numbers as low as Randle from 0-2 feet or FG% wise. The only thing we really know Randle is better at is getting rebounds, and who knows if that keeps up with bigger players around him now.

Randle has decent handles for a dude his size. They're probably better than Robinson's - and most other guys who play PF. I'll give him that fa sho.

yeah, randle can face up and put the ball on the floor very effectively for a pf. even considering that he may not actually possess sensory capacity in his right hand.

i'm not actually sure robinson is more athletic. they both have a nagging problem of finishing below the rim despite being 6'9".

my main comment was that robinson seems to play the team game a little better on both ends. randle needs to learn this...soon.

From the NBA Pre Draft Camp stuff:

Compared to the average PF in the draft,
    He's significantly stronger (+2.3 reps)
He's slightly less agile (-.4 seconds)
He's significantly faster (+.15 seconds, near PG sprint!)
    He's less a leaper (-3" standing, -2.5" max)
He's 1.15" taller than the average PF
He weighs 20# more than the average PF
    His wingspan is 2.5" longer

Guy probably deserves some love. He's been a great rebounder and active defensively. He certainly deserves a spot over Yi. Unfortunately looks like Auguste is destined for the D-Fenders, but Robinson does everything Auguste does and has more experience. I hope he makes the final roster.

i really like trob, but i'm not sure either he or yi has shown themselves worthy of a roster spot. odd problem for management, as i don't like going into the season with moz and zu as the only big centers on the roster. i like black, but some matchups will be tough for him, and it would be good to have a vet pf/c with a big body to throw in those situations.

might not be any available, though.

in any case, i'd take robinson over yi, but i'm thinking they structured his contract to help with potential trades, so he'll hang on for a while, results be damned.

Solid body for depth IMO. Did Yi and Auguste even play last game?

"T-Rob does not have a great rep. around the league - he's more likely to play overseas than stick but we'll see. He's nowhere near the 6-10 he's listed at - more like 6-7 or 6-8 - and not long, like Ed Davis.

He's strong and athletic, but can't shoot - and to his own word is my article, has not been stable off the court.

Robinson on a non-guaranteed summer contract is about right, unfortunately - hopefully for him, he can turn his career around and stick in the NBA - kind of like Shawne Williams (though Shawne had worse issues off the court - and he was a great guy).

I liked my conversation with T-Rob, it was brief, but he was pretty open."

    According to Pincus on LG

didn't know about his off court trouble. i knew he had a sad backstory, but i thought he was considered a high character guy.

Well, well, well. I think he makes the team now that Yi was released today. Welcome to the team Mr. Robinson!

Love the hustle but man is it going to be tough to find mind for him. A really good insurance for the big men though.
