To me if Fiege is driving that ship I want #1 in everyway possible. Again, only if Sony stays out of it and just collects the checks.
I'm fairly certain I read recently that they have the creative control, like complete creative control.
Nice! By the way, the first reviews for Luke Cage are glowing. They say it might be the best series yet and it perfectly captures the heart and soul of Harlem. I could not be more excited for that release. Between Narcos, Stranger Things, and Luke Cage I'm going to be glued to Netflix this month in my free time.
Hopefully AoS get more money to spend on the special effects this season with Ghost Rider in it. Always did think the effects were bad, borderline cheesy in some scenes.
AoS is hit or miss with their CG. I never liked the look of Lash, but the last scene with Squid-Ward was fantastic CG. That ^^ pic doesn't look bad, but it could be better. I'm pretty sure the skull isn't his head, it's his helmet which is why it's shaped funny.
Not sure if you've watched it yet, but I started Bojack Horseman. Its real good. Once you get into the series a bit you realize how smart and profound it is on top of being hilarious. You can add it to your Netflix list.
Oh I finished Season 2 a few days after it came out. I love that show and the second season really is some of the best written stuff out there. Fantastic.
Not to derail this thread too much further, but season 3 is out as well. Not sure if you knew since you talked about season 2 above.
Luke Cage is fantastic. For a lot of reasons that would require a keyboard to list Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
Luke Cage: Spoiler So I am "only" 10 episodes in, but something is really bothering me about it. Not enough to where I'm not enjoying the show a lot, but there is one really, really LAZY aspect that I can't get over. The Harlem police seem like the most idiotic and incompetent police force ever assembled. I understand the need to suspend disbelief in comic book fare, but that should only apply to the superhero aspects of the story. They found 7 million dollars in cash and an arsenal of weapons that could arm a small country, but he somehow gets out and there is no federal presence? Where is the ATF at this point? This wasn't a few AK 47s and 9mms. These were insane military grade weapons. There would have been a MASSIVE federal presence with that kind of arsenal. I have a question though. As a white kid from Orange County, I am curious. Are there people like Cottonmouth around in urban, minority areas? I can see someone like Wilson Fisk pulling strings from the shadows, but are there people in today's digital age that everyone in the community knows are corrupt, but somehow remain untouchable by the police? I'm not talking about the dude that everyone knows might be the supplier of drugs to local dealers. I'm talking a dude like Cottonmouth who is running high end military grade weapons AND drugs. I'm honestly asking because it seems baffling to me that in 2016 someone like Cottonmouth could exist. I could buy it 30 years ago, but today?
Savory, To your second question, yes absolutely. And not just in urban minority areas, but in well to do majority suburbs too. I know its a shock to many, but they exist, cops know about em, neighbors know about em, but they generally keep their hands and noses clean so there isn't a whole lot that the law can do. For example I know a guy who sold mountains of dope for years. He also had two real jobs for cover, and never ever kept product at his house. He lived in a very nice neighborhood, but not too nice. The only reason he got busted was some fool that worked for him came to his house will running from the police. It so happened to be one of the very rare times that he had a stack of weed at his house. Long story short he had to spend a nice chunk of change from his "savings" on a lawyer, but he avoid any real heavy charges and has since retired from that lifestyle because of his children. I can tell you similar stories about folks in the sex trade , and stolen property trade, including guns.
I get that it can happen but Spoiler This seems really over the top. Like I said, he doesn't keep a low profile or keep his hands clean. He personally fires off a rocket launcher in the middle of New York City. And it seems like EVERYONE knows he does it. It's not just the cops kind of knowing, but not having the ability to connect the dots. He keeps stuff at his place of business. He has direct associates of his getting caught. It feels like all of Harlem knows the dude is doing this stuff. I mean 7 million dollars and a high end military arsenal of weapons is different than a bunch of weed in your home. That's the type of thing that brings down the ATF, FBI, you name it. I bought Fisk because half the show was about him being brought into the light, then they had to bust him. Cottonmouth owns a flashy nightclub, has meetings in public with other known gangsters. I like Luke Cage and his origin story. I loved the stuff with Pops and the barber shop. I just feel like the degree to which Cottonmouth was able to get away with things is too over the top. He ain't getting let go after all that stuff is found. I don't care who his lawyer is. It seems lazy. I think the Cottonmouth thing could have been wrapped up after 2-3 episodes and then Diamondback (someone who is in the shadows) could have served as the main bad for the duration of the show.
I have some catching up to do... Still haven't watched the second season of Daredevil yet, or Jessica Jones. But I was there reading Luke Cage and Iron Fist comics when they first launched, so I've been looking forward to both.
