    if you're going to bet, you need to operationally define "unmitigated disaster". i'd say that if mozgov is, statistically, the same guy he was last year, then yes, the signing is an unmitigated disaster.

    That would only happen if he is or he gets hurt again which keeps him from playing like he did less than 2 years ago. I always hedge with the possibility of injuries with any player on my predictions which are usually glass half full. But I'd agree if he can't play well because he's hurt again that would be a reasonably big disaster considering the dollars tied up and length of contract. No real reason to anticipate something that bad which would limit him the next 2-4 years with us. And this year he could drop to 4th big man behind Zu, Black and Yi. If they are doing reasonably well then Moz won't kill us. Zu is going to be more manly this year than many here believe. He's very confident I'm speculating with the hot and several years older GF.

    i think this is part of the issue, though. when you give someone a huge long-term contract, you're firmly (if implicitly) stating that you're certain that a) injury caused last season's problems and b) that injury is no longer a concern.

    if either of those are false; ya done f*ed up.

    I (didn't) read an interview in which Mozgov claims he'd be even more dominant, but he was allowed to show only 30% of his game in Cleveland. Buckle up. He's going to dominate this season.

    I know that is not hard to do (being an upgrade over Hibbert), but I think Mosgov will surprise.

    Elite pick and roll setting will open things up for Russell and Clarkson...he is the key.
