Why didn't anybody post about Shaq being inducted in today's Hall of Fame? Congrats to the most dominant big man ever. Well deserved. Congrats, Shaq!

It was mentioned in another thread about his dedication.

30 min vid on his induction?

Not Feelin it. Maybe someday when I'm sick in bed on company time.

As lovable as Shaq could be, he was also an expert on bridge burning. Everywhere he left, there were ashes and empty gas cans.

He just doesn't inspire feelings in me like a Kobe Bryant. I'm happy for him, but is there a single person on earth that doesn't feel he wasted some of his talent?

He was great, and a legend, but STILL could have been so much more. The Lakers made the right choice keeping Kobe.

^To say he wasted his talent definitely doesn't sound right when he has 4 championships.

He made a fortune playing basketball and is in the hall of fame and has 4 rings. Lets put it this way...there are more than 7 billion people on the planet...Shaq is in the top one million or something in terms of fame and fortune. Hell of an accomplishment if you ask me.

His accomplishments are amazing. I do think he had more, and I think it was his doing - not a coach or another player - that prevented him from being even better, but he was one of the fifty greatest players in the NBA easily. Utterly dominant for years. Congrats, big man.

And it's a testament to his incredible, once-in-a-lifetime talent that after everything he did he could have done so much more.

If Shaq had even a slight work ethic to improve on the court he'd probably have 6 titles and a couple more Finals MVPs. I'm sure he'd tell you the same thing. You're right given all that insane accomplishment it's hard to say he wasted his talent. Maybe wasted is a strong word, but he certainly left something on the table which can eat at you as an athlete.

    wasted some of his talent

That point is hard to argue. I never said wasted his talent (As in all) I wouldn't agree with that statement either.

Favorite O'Neal [and Jackson] moment... Game 2 playoff against Portland. Jackson chose O'Neal to shoot the tech. True to the script, O'Neal cans it. I truly wished he stayed a Laker and was dismayed when I found he was traded. Yep, congrats to him on his Hall of Fame induction.

Harper's reaction was priceless. Pippen's - even better.

BTW, if you keep watching the vid - in the first two games vs. Sacramento, Shaq was 35-58 from the floor, 17-32 from the line, had 18 offensive boards, 41 total rebounds, 10 blocks, 6 assists, and 87 points, while playing 91 minutes.

That was such a great moment. Shaq shooting technicals...Phil had some guts, that's for sure.

    Oh Snap!

I pick Kobe in Lebron's body. The durability and extra strength/length? Unstoppable from anywhere on the floor, and total mismatch nightmare.

I watched the entire Hall of Fame Ceremony on Friday. I loved Shaq's speech definitely had some real funny moments in their for sure. Childhood nickname: Big Son of a B****, Phil Burning Sage :D, LSU coach recruiting Shaq, Shaq talking about his kids, and much more.

That speech was everything Shaq was about and one of the many reasons we all loved him when he was on the Lakers. He'd talk crap and say just about anything.

    Congrats Shaq!
