Stats through three games. Silver = roster lock. Black = likely roster slot. Bold = starter. Quarterback Derek Carr 24-38, 251 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, 88.8 Rating Matt McGloin 15-29, 114 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, 70.2 Rating Connor Cook 16-26, 223 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT, 57.1 Rating --Carr makes it. McGloin is a solid backup. Will the Raiders (want to) carry three QBs? Runningback Latavius Murray 12-40; 3-15 DeAndre Washington 21-106; 5-29 Jamize Olawale 7-21, 2-10 Marcel Reece 1-(-2); 1-7 George Atkinson 12-135, 2 TD; 4-55 Jalen Richard 7-35; 2-7 Taiwan Jones 2-3; 2-5 --LTM make it. It seems Washington make is (see Special Teams below). Olawale will be the FB until Reece returns at least - but there's a wrinkle. Will Reece make the team? Atkinson, Richard, and Jones are all Wide Receivers Amari Cooper 6-79, 1 Michael Crabtree 4-83 Seth Roberts 6-75 Andre Holmes 2-8 Johnny Holton 5-78 Marvin Hall 4-35 KJ Brent 3-54 Nathan Palmer 2-14 --Cooper and Crabtree, yes. Roberts and Holmes likely. After that, competition seems wide open. I don't know a lot about any of those WRs except Hall, who ran a 4.40. Tight Ends Clive Walford 1-19 Mychal Rivera Lee Smith Gabe Holmes 1-5 Ryan O'Malley 2-11 --This is a tough position to project. I think the Raiders would like to move Rivera and run with Walford, Smith, and Holmes. But Rivera is a worthwhile keep on the roster.
^I like Richard among the backs over Jones and Atkinson... Receivers? Supposedly it will be Holton that makes it. TE's? I like Rivera's pass catching...Holmes is on IR I believe so he gets to stay on for a bit.
the run defense worries the hell out of me...tonight's game wont mean much and we wont really see the first unit but i hope this is corrected by the time we land in Louisiana
...I have this crazy feeling that Murray will be less relevant as the season progresses. This kid Washington is fast, shifty, can catch and is willing to block. Del Rio appears to want to replicate a Jones-Drew in his prime. Carr has raved how exciting the rookie is on the field.
Cuts: Raiders waived RB George Atkinson III, OG Mitch Bell, WR K.J. Brent, CB Kenneth Durden, WR Marvin Hall, DL Drew Iddings, DL Branden Jackson, OG Denver Kirkland, DT Derrick Lott, LB John Lotulelei, TE Jake McGee, WR Jaydon Mickens, TE Ryan O'Malley, OG Oni Omoile, LB Korey Toomer, DL Greg Townsend Jr. and LB Kyrie Wilson. Neiron Ball likely to get an IR designation. Damn. Surprising names? None, really. Atkinson is fast as hell, but he can't hold onto the ball. All of the 2016 draft picks are still on the roster, I think.
GAIII with Cleveland...good to see he's getting a chance. Cowser and Ball cleared waivers, both on IR. I really like both.
Derek Carr & Rodney Hudson - offense Khalil Mack & Reggie Nelson - defense our captains for this season
...the calm before the storm. Saints statistically porous on D dating back to last season. Brees against our new secondary. Could be a high scoring game. Denver last night looked like a team that will still be a difficult one.
can only see it on NFL Redzone and I can say that this is fricking disappointing already. that 98 TD was way to easy. Both Offense AND defense didn't really come to play?
