I was watching a current interview with Kobe and hearing him say something along the lines of wanting to be remembered more for a great investor? I think Kobe just lost interest in basketball in his final years, doesn't seem like it, but from what I seen now he's really invested into the life after basketball as a business investor. Males me sad watching these videos though, he's one of the greatest basketball players to ever live, why wouldn't we want to remember him as a great champion and NBA player?

Come on, girl. You know its Kobe-talk for him wanting to be better in investing than he was in basketball. He is that driven/arrogant.

If Kobe becomes better at investing that he was in basketball - he will own all of us by 2030.

Kobe just wants to make his mark on the entire world. There are a lot of people who know his name but don't follow basketball. He just wants those people to have a chance to witness his greatness as well.

So, I didn't notice if this topic has already been asked, but now that we've had some time to let that 60pt game sink in, and look at Kobe's full career with a little perspective....

Where does Kobe rank ALL TIME as a LAKER?

Is Kobe the greatest Laker ever?

    YES.

Skills, thrills and playing through injuries no one but him would play through his whole career. Left it all on the floor every night. The most all around skilled player in the history of the game, let alone the Lakers. No one in the history of the league worked harder all year round. MJ included, per Phil.

Depends who you ask. Magic says Yes, Kobe himself says no, Shaq says Yes...

I personally feel I can't give a true answer because I didn't start watching Lakers basketball till 1996 and wasn't a true fan till 1997. Thus, I'm not being fair to Magic and Kareem's talent.

Records, Achievements, and 20 year time span with one team alone I believe Kobe should be. But I can understand why some might disagree.

IMO, Magic and Kobe are tied at 1. Kareem at 2. Wilt, West, Baylor, Shaq round out the final 6 and I'm not sure where they fall in order.

While Kareem may have had the greater career in many eyes, there aren't a whole lot of people that consider him better "as a Laker" since he accomplished quite a bit before he got to the Lakers.

I'm not sure what to do with this Juronimo. I thought we were on the same track. This is a sad, sad day.

Yeah I'm looking at Kobe in 3rd place behind Kareem and thinking wait a minute ... WTF? I'm not going to fight someone over picking Magic over Kobe. He was my all time guy right above Kareem. Until Kobe. 20 years of Kobe Bryant only a Laker, among strong other arguments IMO trumps Kareem.

Yeah I dont see how you can put kareem above kobe when he did a lot of his accomplishments prior to becoming a Laker. As a Laker, Kobe gave us more. As a Laker player, I think Magic is the only one you could argue that gave us more but Kobe's longevity still puts him above Magic in my opinion.

He didn't appear in a Finals game - I wonder if that's the distinction they're drawing?
