Of course not, but a different cut can absolutely change the tone of the movie. For instance (and keep in mind I haven't watched SS) but the second cut (the "fun" one) changed the sequences between Joker and Harley as well as omitted a few scenes altogether which completely changed the dynamic between the two. Where in the first cut Joker and Harley had that horrible, abusive relationship they've always had in the past, in the second cut Joker seemed to be more loving. The second cut of the film took out a lot of the stuff that the studio thought would be too dark but helped flesh out some characters. This was especially true with Joker which is why Leto was so upset about his portrayal in the in movie.

I'm actually happy about this, granted, I'm not sure it is going to connect to the greater overall universe. I believe the script was written by Guillermo Del Torro.
Del Toro was supposed to helm it, but he jumped ship to go do better projects. If the DCEU didn't exist, I'd say it was a good idea. Knowing what WB/DC do to their movies makes me 100% uninterested in any of their upcoming films.
Won't do it. I've read the script, I hated it, and I've heard reviews from people I trust very much. I might watch it on tv or something but otherwise I'm not interested.
Not as much as this guy I've known since college who majored in film and works on a movie review website. For movies anyway. I'm sure you'd know more about the Lakers and life in general.
Actually, I majored in Communications with an emphasis in Radio, TV and Film...don't contribute to a movie website though.
If you want to give me a detailed film-y reason why this movie wasn't awful then I'm willing to listen.

I finally decided to see Suicide Squad. Boy are they lucky they landed Will Smith. He damn near saved this movie single handed. He was really good. I also like the girl that played Harley. Thought she was suitably crazy, even though some of the acting was a little lacking. Rick Flag as pretty good too. Didn't like Leto as the Joker. It might be that I was just comparing his take on the Joker to that of Heath Ledger, but Ledger's Joker was just so damn good, I couldn't help it. The story was... I don't want to say bad... but I was not impressed. I didn't feel like I wasted my money, but I probably would have if it weren't for Will Smith. Over all, I give it a 3/5 almost a 4.
I agree with Will Smith. If someone else is in that role, the movie would have suffered big time. His charisma (along with Margot Robbie's) made the movie's warts a lot less noticeable.
