When you say 80s monster flicks, are you talking about things like "Friday the 13th?" If so, I might be interested in this.
With network tv season kinda being over aside from some cooking competitions I like, I've been looking for shows I've missed out on, Netflix or otherwise. Been watching Black Mirror, fantastic show, man the UK has really got us beat when it comes to the quality of their tv shows. Broadchurch is also great.
Yeah all the shows I watch are off right now. The only show I'm currently watching is Ray Donovan, a really underrated show. I also need to catch up on a couple Netflix shows.
Eh, not necessarily the slasher type. It's more a spooky monster movie stretched out over 8 episodes. I don't want to give too much away because I think it's worth really checking out, but it's about a boy that disappears into thin air, a strange girl that suddenly appears, and a monster that seems to appear out of nowhere...and out of walls. A few jump scares here and there all done 80s style. I'll admit I'm kind of a whimp when it comes to scary monster movies/shows, but I actually enjoyed this one. It's been getting rave reviews everywhere.
Just finished the 8 episodes of Stranger Things. It was cool. If you're not into horror-related stuff or feeling 80's nostalgia, it's not must-see TV, but I enjoyed it. Debating what to watch next. Still haven't watched Jessica Jones or Season 2 of Daredevil. Black Mirror sounds interesting. The Path on Hulu has a cast of a few of my favorite actors.
I'm on episode 6 of 8 for Stranger Things and am really enjoying it. Will be finishing up the last two episodes tonight. 93% (97% audience) on Rotten Tomatoes and 8.9/10 on IMDB I just started watching, Vice Principals on HBO this past Sunday when it premiered. Danny McBride is always great with these kinds of comedies. I love the premise, it's basically Step Brothers but two guys fighting over the right to be the new principal of the school. I'm also watching the show, The Night Of, on HBO. Fantastic first 2 episodes! This is going to be my new show to stay with till GoT starts again.
Stranger Things is def a must watch. Its a great show, I'm on episode 5, I hate that it's only 8 episodes long. I believe there is a new show that just came out for Netlfix that is a mystery type of show and I wanna see that. Glad some good shows are coming out while GOT is on an Hiatus.
Same here. I started re-watching it a few days ago and I'm already half way through season 2. It's like every line is crammed with multiple jokes.
I forgot to mention 12 Monkeys. Yeah, season 2 just ended, but I'll probably watch both seasons again, this is my favorite show on tv right now. Almost every episode has a "holy s***" moment. It has an awesome feel to it like Lost did in the early days, but like they're actually building to a satisfying conclusion. If you like Sci-Fi and time travel stories, watch it. All the characters are great in this, but my favorite is probably Jennifer Goines played by Emily Hampshire, she's hilarious and awesome.
Just finished Stranger Things and I loved it. Highly recommended. You got in intrigued with 12 Monkeys, I may give that a go.
Watched Stranger Things. So stinking good. I am a child of the 80's so I could see how people younger than me may not get the same charge out of it as I did, but I absolutely loved it.
I, and I never do this, watched all of Stranger Things on Saturday and it was great. It really is a mix of what makes 80's movies so great, fantastic character driven story telling, meets a great syfy mystery/horror. In some ways it really is high fantasy told through 80s kids though. Its like watching a grown up version of goonies mixed with stand by me taking place in the twilight zone.
I haven't seen that. I hope so! They made their Season 4 on Netflix and I'd heard rumors of a movie follow up if it got enough attention. Season 4 was a little different from the other 3, but it's some of the greatest writing I've ever seen. It's as complicated a web as you could possibly find. I hope they do something else. It's such an underrated show.
I do remember hearing they were doing a new season on Arrested Development or a spinoff or something. Haven't heard anything about it for a long while
Just looked it up! Apparently Mitch Hurwitz (series creator) said they want to start filming at the start of 2017! And it would be a murder mystery to see who (if any) of the Bluths were responsible for the death of Lucille 2 which sounds absolutely amazing. Then again, they'd said they were hoping to go for THIS year, but it didn't materialize. Will Arnett is the busiest actor of the cast right now so hopefully he'll have some time to dedicate to this show.
