Byron said Kobe, "looked exhausted", on the flight yesterday. Would you mind toning it down a little bit more Byron?

30-32 minutes, more if the game is close at the end. I've never read Kobe being tired so much, please take the hint Byron.

Kobe at 30 minutes is better than Kobe as DNP-injury.

@brosales12 Byron: Kobe "looked exhausted" on yesterday's flight. Lulllz. Maybe a sign? Do something about it? Nahhhhhh

Yep. RT @chisportsguy41: Byron Scott is either the dumbest coach ever or a stealth-tanking genius. There is no in-between.

I said this in the Kobe thread after his game on Sunday; not only did he looked exhausted going on 'yesterday's flight,' he has looked exhausted at certain points during past games, he looked exhausted at the end of the Raptors game, etc...this is nothing new. Inevitably, the worst will happen, and Kobe will end up missing a significant portion of the season because of Byron, period.

I think Byron might be trolling us at this point.

Whatever Byron has done to prepare the guys for the last two games, it's working.Tonight the 2nd unit was simply incredible on the defensive end.

Well timed double-teams to pressure the offense, great rotations, and our guys stayed in front of their man pretty well. I especially noticed some smart rotations by Sacre to contest at the rim. He's slowly looking like a serviceable NBA player.

Yeah ... plus Ellington currently deserves more minutes so there is no justification in not resting Kobe more

Last night I thought the rotations were alright. I don't really understand the minutes between Sacre and Davis... I know Sacre has a surprisingly fantastic shot mid-range, but Davis deserves more time than he's getting. Certainly more touches as well in the post.

Other than that though, everything else was pretty much on point. Wes had 28 minutes and Nick only 20, but Wes was hot and played really well so I'm alright with that. Kobe played 33 minutes which I think is a good spot for him. Ellington played 15 minutes which is great. The only person I'm not digging is Price. He provides good energy, but not much production. He's been around the block so he knows some tricks, but he doesn't produce regularly and I'd still much rather have a different option in there. MEKEL. Where the hell did that guy go?

The defense is improving drastically. The offense is much better now that Kobe is the de-facto PG. I want Lin to do it, but if HE doesn't want to do it, then oh well. Kobe's turn.

For some reason, Lin always plays like a talented kid who is playing in front of a big name scout for the first time in his life. He looks nervous most of the time.

Having Swaggy helps immensely, on both ends of the floor. And the rotations are automatically better too.

Jordan Hill played 8 minutes the entire 2nd half. Is MDA our coach again?

Byron needs to go the way of Jordan Hill and give up on Booze. He had no place playing Carlos where and the way he did at the end of the game. The outcome does not matter. It just makes no basketball sense. He needs to find viable plays for Lin to execute rather having Kobe as the principal play maker. If Lin is that ineffective then he has no purpose or function on the court ( I know it was one bad game but I feel he struggles against any guard that can counter his driving and hesitation dribble.) The team has no x's and o's. This is ponderous to quote Casey Kasem.

Oh and Nash wont call you back. Maybe like Laker fans he's not that into you Byron.

Nash actually did call Byron back. :) The report came out a few days after the initial report. I agree with everything else though.

He's clueless. NO reason why Boozer was our only big to play the last 6 mins of the game. Young was hot all game but didnt come into until the end of the 3rd qtr.

I did like it when he left Lin on the bench and let Price finish the game. Price hit that big 3 in the 4th and was great a disrupting a lot of WAS plays on D.

This was a really weird game in terms of the minutes distribution. WTF was Byron doing?

Yeah, that was the right move. I wanted Lin in a bit more, but Byron made the right call on that end; Lin just didn't have it going tonight, unfortunately. On another note, somebody informed me that we didn't run any pin-downs in the 1st quarter; pin-downs usually resulting in long 2's the most inefficient shot in basketball. The result at the end of the 1st quarter; 33 points.

I wasn't expecting to win this game and the lineup at the end of the game had me puzzled. It's ok, though. Let's go get the one in Boston and end this trip 2-1 and on a positive note.

Yep, winning the game against them on their court is paramount.

Its a shame though. We should've walked away with a W. We had their number when our bench (especially Young) were torching them.

I don't think we would have won that game any way. No one went in expecting a W, and we were soundly thrashed.

They are a better team, that's for sure. I certainly did not expect the win. Our bench did well though. Swaggy generally does well against everyone when he's on. You can't guard him. The only thing an opponent can hope for is that he's simply not on, in which case he turns into an ordinary volume shooter, but that's another story.

...or hope Byron inexplicably benches him.

Remember when I asked in the Gameday chat if he was hurt? I come back to the game some time after Q1, and what do I see? Swag sitting on the bench and his minutes log showing 7:48, while Kobe is already playing 25+. I don't understand Byron's rotations at all.
