I completely agree with this, you KNOW beforehand that a 3hr movie is not acceptable and you still shoot so much material and then charge us all for the privilege? BS. Gave it a 6/10 personally.
Wally is finally going to become Kid Flash in the upcoming Flash Season 3. I don't know what it is about this show. It's campy, not at all well written or anything, but I really do like The Flash.
^^Nice! I knew they had something planned for him ever since he got hit with that blast. Besides, you can't have a character named Wally West and not have him be a Flash of some sort. I wonder what they have planned for the girl though because she was hit by the same blast? I love the Flash as well because it's...well more lighthearted then say Arrow or even Smallville in later seasons.
It's kind of just enjoyable because I like the characters, and I don't have to pay attention too much haha
Spoilers for BvS if you haven't seen it. I waited for the 3 hour, R rated Batman v Superman to come out before seeing the movie, watched it last night. Good lord what a jumbled mess of a movie. It's like scene after scene after scene of "huh?". 3 hours and there isn't one scene that lasts for more than like 2 or 3 minutes before moving on to the next until like 2 1/2 hours into the movie. I was bored out of mind until about the scene where Lex's plot is revealed and that guy in the wheelchair blows up. From then on there were some decent action scenes, Wonder Woman was cool, the Batman saving Martha action scene was finally Batman out the cartoons put to film at least. Watching Batman kill so many people, in dream sequences or not though was weird and felt wrong. I'm pretty sure a lot of guys he dropped cars on, used their car as an projectile dragged on a line, threw through walls probably died too though. And Superman, he stands around and broods a lot, you could probably count his lines he has so few. This is a bad movie, not "I didn't like it", it's a bad movie. 3 hours, muddled mess, so many characters yet so little character development, and worst of all Batman and Superman are not true to the characters as I know them. It's like Snyder knows nothing about them. This movie makes Batman Begins/The Dark Knight look like the Godfather.
Well I'm glad I didn't waste my money on the 3 hour edition, but imagine that movie with some of the plot taken out and you've got the theatrical cut... Not pretty.
Yeah, I read some reviews that the 3 hour cut helped a little with clearing some things up or fleshing them out, I can't imagine how bad this was without that if it's true. My local video store (like the last one in the entire OC) gets movies a week early, so I decided to rent this one as I had no intentions of buying a movie I heard such bad things about and is this long, even though I do own and like Man of Steel. It was worth the rental, because I can't see ever watching it again. Unless Snyder is removed from Justice League, I don't have high hopes. If he isn't involved at all with the Wonder Woman and stand alone Batman movie, I'm still interested in those at least. Hope he had nothing to do with Suicide Squad either, as I don't want the Joker ruined too. Also, I forgot to mention Lex Luthor, but I think it goes without saying how miscast and bad he was. One of the best performances in this movie was actually probably Michael Shannon playing a corpse. I really believed his performance. Or maybe it was a wax dummy, I dunno.
Made snort coffee out of my nose. It actually was him! He was on set for some of that stuff. All of your complaints ring 100% true and as long as we're living in the Snyderverse I think the DC movies will continue to disappoint. Suicide Squad might be okay, but I've grown lukewarm on it. It's probably one of the few I'm looking forward to. I don't think much of Wonder Woman, I don't care about Aquaman, I REALLY don't care about Cyborg. Flash has some hope to him though. And yeah Justice League is going to be a disaster. I'm absolutely shocked Snyder still has a job after his last two movies. Man of Steel is better than BvS, but I still thought it lacked charisma. It was a solid C for me because of a lot of silly plot issues and the over-the-top Act 3, but BvS is just an F. How do you still keep your job after that?
Snyder's dour look on life fit with what Watchmen was. Watchman is as much tragedy and hopelessness as it is "superhero-y." The problem is he took that same attitude and put it on Superman (who's symbol literally means hope) and Batman who is known to have a hard rule of not killing...which he repeatedly broke the first time we meet him. James Wan directed the Conjuring. Imagine if he would have taken the same style and mood and made a Care Bears movie? Know your characters. Real and I have said it before, this was Batman and Superman in name and costume only. The characters that were on screen were not Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent.
Warner bros. released a teaser trailer for Justice League at comic con.... just from the trailer perspective, doesnt look half bad, one thing for sure it is starting out on the right foot.
Wonder Woman trailer... not too bad either, looks interesting, somebody upstairs in warner bros. certainly listened about quality
It should be fun: it's not what Snyder wants. That trailer is enough to show that they are 100% in on the Avengers model now. Batman is DC's Tony Stark and they're going to run with it. I like it. I think that's a great plan and it'll improve the movie by default. Snyder is not a storyteller. He's a cinematographer that somehow got a director's gig by using literal comic panels from other people's work and translating it to the screen. I think it looks pretty good. I have a little hope for it. Wonder Woman looked alright too. I'm not exactly interested in the movie, but it didn't turn me away or anything.
Both those teasers looked pretty good, but Cyborg looks awful... I mean terrible. Everything else... ok
From the trailer I see some MCU imitations, Bruce Wayne (Stark) recruiting young Flash (Spidey), but I like it especially their casting of Flash who could have been cast as Spiderman. I love Grant Gustin and it would be hard to follow him. Makes me excited for the film.
