if a tim duncan, shaq, or olajuwon came into the league right now, his team would automatically dominate. i agree with kb, there just isn't a ton of talent at center right now. this does not mean that having that talent would be useless.

and again, even given the meager talent at the position, the best teams still play true bigs that don't shoot threes. they set screens, deter shots, and rebound. you can't just play chris bosh or draymond green at the 5 for 35mpg and get all that.

If Zubac can be something like even a Marc Gasol-lite then he'll have an amazing career in the NBA. He's got the makings of a great post game, a nice jumper, and his defense is better than I expected. I'm all for uptempo, but you don't need 5 guys on a fastbreak. There's a reason GS needed Bogut in the Finals.

Raise your hand if you think Timmy and the Lakers' Pro training staff and equipment can make Zu stronger and make him faster. I think that's a no brainer low hanging assumption to be made.

I'm so excited for this team, I cannot wait!!! Even if we lose, I feel comfortable knowing Luke has the reins... I was so against the BS hiring it was sickening...

...2016 will be an interesting season to see. So much to learn about the young core as well as Walton and his staff. What will be telling is how they will handle the lows and building off the wins. It will be uneven as they all get to know each other and gauge their progress. One thing I am assured of is that it will be fun to see them all grow. So crazy thinking that they are all oh so young.

Here's to Russell, Clarkson, Ingram, and Randle convincing Towns to come join them in 2023!

^^ Good stuff from Jeanie Buss. I like her endorsement of the Luke hire and the vet signings, and good deflection on the FA's that have not signed here. Really none of them have been shockers. I'd love to get Westbrook and give the middle finger to all the media and the haters.

How hard would it have been for her to say "Mitch and Jim did a good job?" I think, whether we like it or not, the writing could be on the wall at this point. I'm still hoping for a reconciliation instead of a messy breakup.

Still it's nice to hear her speak positively about Luke after her mouthpiece took a shot at him.

Jeanie Buss...come off lucid and thoughtful there. I really detest having to hate on her and Jim even if it is warranted. They along with their father have been a part of my Laker fan-ship over the years. I'm sure they want the best for our team even if they have odd and clumsy ways of going about it...

We have a young but promising core to pair with a bright and upcoming head coach. The best thing that can happen for this team is for Jim and Jeanie to make up. Sure Jim set himself a deadline and Jeanie has taken every opportunity to remind us of it and that she isn't afraid to fire him but they need to figure it out. We might not be contenders but we are in a much better place than we were 3 years ago. I'm sure everyone has the best for the team on their mind but come together, watch us takeover the league in a couple years. Don't want things to blow up right when we've barely got a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel.

Luke solves a whole hell of a lot of problems in recruiting going forward, not to mention HIS basketball brain. A young Phil if you will. So yeah I would love for the family to get their s*** together and let the basketball people in the organization take care of basketball. If Jim has input they can override him, ideally, if say Mitch and Luke disagree.

We are on a good trajectory, and have made solid moves. If this year plays out well, hopefully all the Jim talk goes away, and we just focus on building a winner.

It's a bit early to say if they have done a good job, and everyone is always evaluated after the season. I wouldn't be giving them kudos early on either.

Still up in the air yourself a bit on the Luke hire, Ingram and Zubac, Deng, Mozgov and Calderon? Just seems further evidence from her she's hell bent on getting rid of Jim since the family is dysfunctional. If she's truly excited, just like a coach (like current guys), with a player, maybe you pump them up a little bit. (Mitch and Jim)

To make up for her dastardly deed of evil. :Magic Brows:

She gave kudos on Luke, but has he coached the team in the regular season yet?

Mitch says, "Let's just all calm down" :) Championships aren't won in the Summer.
