That is a shrewd move by GS. Dumping Green's salary and getting Westbrook to sign for the minimum so they have 12 million or so to make a push for T. Rodgers. West might have to be in that meeting though to get Rodgers to sign.

Man oh man....got way too many ppl overrating our young core like crazy. I agree we should at least wait until closer to the trade deadline for any Westbrook move but man....I'm not holding back anybody to obtain him. I'll give up everyone if I have to. It's WESTBROOK we're talking about. We'll never have that problem of attracting other FAs if he's here. Russell ain't that good and he will never BE as good as Westbrook...i mean Westbrook is a top 5 player in the league. Russell would be lucky to crack top 30 in the league like EVER. Same goes for Randle. Ingram? I mean we havne't seen enough from him yet but he's also a long shot to be a superstar in this league. Westbrook going to the C Bags will be the final nail in our Lakers coffin....cannot let that man go to the god damn c-bags

...I forgot to add that T Rodgers sets some mean, nasty picks. You can't double off the others too 'coz he can hit the outside shot with unerring accuracy. Prolly lead The League in FG% 'coz he'll be wide open all game.

    Word...

Thats fine but i think for those who think okc will settle for anything less is fooling themselves....look at the haul okc got for an expiring ibaka, that should say plenty

You might be right, but I don't think we'd consider that. (3) top 10 picks from the last 3 drafts? Oh heck no. Better off either getting himself to leverage himself here by refusing to sign unless we keep certain assets, or wait until he's a FA and can walk. Probably depends on how stuck Westbrook is on determining his own future. He might want to be woo'd next year in FA, and no one sells the farm for a one year rental. But especially not in our position.

I wouldn't trade for Westbrook unless we have assurance he will stick around for longer and the most I'd give up is Randle and Clarkson. Wouldn't we be in a position of power bargaining wise if he says he says he will stay in LA?

especially if he insists our team isn't gutted of talent. OKC is in a difficult position. Boston is in the best position to give up assets and take a full year to convince him that is where he should stay.

"I'll give up everyone if I have to. It's WESTBROOK we're talking about."

Yeah that sounds prudent. And whoever is left on that gutted team, what happens then if he lands horribly one game and finally jacks up a knee to never be the same player again? Then what?

Do not worry about it. We'll trade for T. Rodgers.

Westbrook has too much LA in him to stomach being in Boston long term. Although that would be a great choice for him. Horford + Westbrook will get you a top 4 seed in the East but Boston will need to pull in a heap of talent to scare Cleveland let alone compete with GS.

Worst fear is that the will Clippers find a way to snag him. They will have over $80M to spend next summer when CP3 and Biff decline their player options - which they will - to sneak in a guy like Westbrook who is exactly the kind of player the Clippers are missing. They'll obviously resign Chris and Blake and that team will compete with GS. Barfing at the thought and will reluctantly support GS.
