I think he means it's Russell getting in the zone.

You know who I've really enjoyed following and who is also 19 year old but seems a lot more mature than Russell is Devin Booker. It's funny too because they are really good friends by the look of it. They worked out together before the draft, hung out during the regular season when LA played PHX, and then just the other day Russ, Randle, and Booker were sitting next to each other watching another summer league game.

I've watched all of the Sun's summer league games and he just has something about him that makes his teammates gravitate to him. He passes well, understands the game, loves working to get better, and is always up cheering for his guys.

Russell whether fair or not is not the leader and person Booker is even at the same age (Russ might be a year older now that I think about it). The point I wanted to make is sure Russell is young and might need to mature a little but there are other great, character guys out there doing the right things.

Russell will get there in due time

Russell could be a bit more guarded now after the Young incident and how his teammates shunned him afterwards. He apologized to them, kept his head up and probably won back their trust. Makes him not so buddy-buddy with them. Just personality dynamics...or Russell is probably somewhat of an introvert socially.

The appearance (from the SL story above) that Russell is supposedly a loner (or is not accepted by his teammates). He, too, was at SL games.

Russell is clearly trying to recruit Booker and Towns.

...oh what the hell. :) Just for fun: Russell at the point, Booker at the 2, Ingram at the 3, Towns 4 and Zu in the middle. Yeah...there we go.

...that work ethic he's been praised for. Seems to be a common theme among the young men. Clarkson, Randle, Nance like to work. Walton's practices won't be as tense as Scott's so it will be more conducive for positive reinforcement for all of them.

During one timeout in the Philly game, DRuss lit into Nance about his picks. He clearly showed Nance how he wanted them set. Prior to that, McConnell had been eating DRuss up. They used double picks to free up D'Angelo. That is when Nance started going off and DRuss started going.

People can say he's a loner or that teammates don't like him, but what I saw was leadership, tough love, motivation, and the end result was a W, based mainly off those 2 players.

Also, Nance ran off the court screaming "he's got ice in his veins!" No animosity between those two. Just striving to get better.

Nance is the ultimate teammate based on your observations... Devoid of ego who will do the right things to win. I'm sure away from the media, Russell gets on well with the rest but let's them know he is the lead. When the games count, he'll probably be more assertive out of the gate.

Jerry West said teams are going to be sorry they didn't draft McCaw. What's everyone's take on him? In the game against us, I noticed he was really quick and has some hops but that was it.
