I'm sorry but if Brown is the best defender on the team we have a problem, if you compare him to Kwhai, Iggy and Tony Allan, he is a trash defender. I would not play him or keep him if he's not improving on offence until trade deadline.
best on sl team, right? deng's obviously a better nba defender. maybe mozgov, too. man, the lakers don't have many good defenders...
Honestly all things considered I don't think he's the best defender in SL either. Ingram and even Zubac and Fall are right up there in terms of overall defensive impact. Best ball defender maybe? Even then Ingram is in the conversation with all that lengf.
i don't know, brown has really been hounding his guy, on and off the ball. he's the rare player that actually seems quicker on d than on offense. his drive game has been much improved, too. but none of this matters in any way if he can't make people pay for leaving him open.
Brown seems like a pretty solid defender. Then again, so does Ingram and Zubac. Varnado has proven that he's an okay defender in the NBA. I don't know as much about Fall. We have a bunch of promising young defenders: Russ, Ingram, Brown, Nance, and Zubac. That's a good core. But no one is going to get the nod over Deng at this point.
He wasn't even close with his shots tonight. Clank city. Full on bricks. How the hell did he shoot 43-44% from 3 in college his last year??
Anthony Brown, this is a family and we are ready to put him out for adoption. I know this is the summer league, but his presence irks me.
well, they both forgot how to shoot the ball between their senior season and rookie season. and it looks like the lakers will keep both one year too long.
Lakers should hire a full tme team hypnotist for this guy if they value his defense and want him to ever hit a 3 this season. And I am half serious.
A sobering read, go back to the first few pages of this thread and see our expectations then compare the reality of who he actually is as a player.
