I can't believe we're not in these talks. Calderon on a one year contract is a perfect addition for us. Perfect. And a possible pick? Are you kidding me. We should be jumping on this.

Chicago is desperate but we don't need to strong arm them. Unless suddenly they strike up a bidding war and start asking for assets instead of giving them up, we'd be dumb not to take Calderon, even if they don't want to throw in a second rounder.

If we're not even on the phones with them, the only excuse I'd accept is that we're preparing to sign Crabbe to an offer sheet at 9:01.

Even then Crabbe takes up a lot of cash going forward. If you're preserving cap space, you get a useful player in Calderon AND an expiring contract AND a pick which we need since we're likely to lose ours over the next three years. We're probably not getting our 2017 or 2019 pick and even if we are we're losing our 2017 and 2018 2nd round picks. We can kill three birds with one stone here...

I'll still be okay if we're maxing Crabbe but it'll be annoying if we're not in on this and we have no other plans.

I don't care about Dunleavy but how is Cleveland a dump candidate? Aren't they capped already?

Well I don't see Chicago giving up a first rounder here. Apparently they haven't given up one since 2004. If we wanted Crabbe, I wouldn't be upset that we chose him over a possible deal here if at best it would net us a mid-late second rounder. If a first rounder is on the table, we absolutely should be aggressive in these talks and that would probably be a better move in terms of assets than signing Crabbe.

If we're not interested in trading for Calderon and it's NOT because we have someone else we'd rather use the cap room on, that's just dumb.

I've read they had a trade exception because of the Varejao trade.

I'd probably prefer Crabbe to Calderon/2nd but I'm assuming we're not after Crabbe. Maybe I'm wrong. If we put a large offer on an RFA like Crabbe or Harkless, then I'll back off but this one to me is a no brainer otherwise. A way to give us two assets and a useful player... If we didn't at least make a call I'll be very upset.

Would you take Vasquez/Felton over Calderon/2nd? I think I'd perfer Calderon/2nd, especially if we're not stuck with a long term deal.

So the Heat never offered more than 2/40 to Wade?... If I'm an agent I seriously remember that s***. How much money did Wade leave on the table for them? What an insult.

We're not totally there yet but the conferences are finally starting to even out after nearly two decades of Western dominance.

We better come away with either Crabbe or Harkless or some other RFA then.
