Doesn't really matter what the Cavaliers do. Wade is still a terrific player. An All Star. Played outstanding in the playoffs, but it's not enough to put them over Golden State. I don't think there is anything they or anyone could do unless they can clear enough space and sign Westbrook next year.

So..we can't be done with free agency, haven't heard anything about what we're doing since Deng and Black. We still have needs to fill and roster spots, I'd like a backup guard better Huertas if possible. Wonder why it's so quiet in Lakerland.

Napier to the Blazers? Huh. Would be fun watching him and Dame go at it everyday in practice. [Yes, we talkin about PRACTICE!']

Guess Bron doesn't want him anymore...

According to Windhorst, Wade wants 2 years 50 mil. I offer it to him. Says he's talking to the Bulls and Nuggets. If he'd go to the freakin Nuggets he'd come here.

That would be an interesting team.

    Russell/Clarkson
    Wade/Williams
    Deng/Ingram/Brown
    Randle/Nance
    Mozgov/Black/Zubac

Our second stringers are purdy good, too.

I'd do it just to shut up the media.

Added bonus: we'd probably make the playoffs.

Honestly, Wade on this team makes us a playoff caliber roster. Wade could limit his minutes with Clarkson and/or Lou behind him. Deng and him with a healthy Mozgov...the bottom of the Western Conference this season isn't near as strong. Rockets and Mavs are the two teams likely to drop out with the Jazz and Wolves making noise. I mean, Are the Lakers with the additions of Deng, Wade and Mozgov along with some more maturation from our youth that far away?

Nuggets are trying to bring in Haslem to make them look more attractive.

I think all of these guys would make good backup PGs. I would offer almost any of them the 2/20 with a team option 2nd season. I think Larkin is looking for a long-term deal though.

Can't have a shot at Westbrook next year if you sign Wade for more than a year. Lakers would have to offer 30 million for 1 year for Wade to maybe listen.

I like that team a lot. Lots of veteran talent and experience. I think they'd make the playoffs. That team isn't better than the Spurs, Warriors, or Clippers but is it on par with Portland, Dallas, Oklahoma, Houston, and Memphis? Is it better than the Jazz, Kings, and Nuggets?

The problem I guess is still the win total. The Nuggets had just about twice as many wins as us last year.

Also, Wade isn't going anywhere. We do this dance every time between Wade and Miami. He ain't leaving.

On the Westbrook front (who will probably need his own thread because we'll be linked to him till he's linked somewhere longterm), I would make a trade offer but we are in a position to f*** them over and could still net him as long as NY doesn't offer a better deal.

Outside interests are important to him and he's from here, so I don't see a scenario in which we trade for him and he doesn't stay. But I think he definitely wants that extra cash bird rights would get him.

If we get him, I move Russell but not to OKC.

Best I give OKC is Lou, Nance, Young, and Brown.

We won't be competing with teams outside of NY or LAC because Westbrook isn't going to stay with the teams who could get into talks with OKC and offer assets.

If we add Wade maybe Westbrook forces his way here this year? DAR, Williams, and Randle or Ingram. Presti would take that and run. I know. Most of you (or all of you?) hate that idea (anything with DAR AND Ingram). But I see Westbrook as a top 3 player in this league and not "fools gold" - according to Cowherd. Sigh. That damn Mozgov contract will be a major problem.

    Westbrook, Clarkson
Wade, Jabari Brown (or Clarkson if we can get a decent PG2)
    Deng, Buddinger (Room?), Brown
    Randle, Nance
    TM, Black, Rook

Would have to move Young, of course. I think Randle would improve leaps and bounds with those players. So would Clarkson and Nance.

Set it up to replace Wade/Deng with PG in two years.
