An a-hole like Scott'll do that. Suck the will to live right out of a Tarik.

It's an efficiency stat. He was a foul machine last year. Not his fault. Tough ask.

why looking at stats should never be the only argument for a decision.

This is totally true - nor should the eye test. But especially with advanced stats you have to know what they represent. It's a measure of a player's ability to go good hustle things (offensive rebounds, steals, blocks) and avoid bad hustle things (turnovers/personal fouls). It's imprecise, but it's useful. I'd like to include 50/50 balls in the mix, but I don't know where to find that data. Taking charges would also be cool to include.

OK. So I really don't care about the Mozgiv deal now. Durant to the Warriors truly means no one is winning in the West for the next 4-5 years. Mozgov's contract will be up by then. God bless America...and God bless Timofey Mozgov...and God bless me cause I'm cool.

Yeah, I mean it's over, for everyone. Unless GS suffers season ending injuries to 2 of their stars it's over. GS ended the NBA, for years to come. I'm just gonna sit back and watch our young Lakers play their games, hopefully win a good chunk, basketball is back to entertainment for me, because winning titles is off the table.

yea i mean this stuff is like NBA 2K level of craziness. Best strategy now is just continue to stockpile lottery picks and build for blow up of GS in 5 years.

Honestly, I think any one of the 4 can go down and they still can win it all. Like Weezy said, it now takes two going down. GS has benefitted from a broken down Steph signing a cheap deal, and this new TV deal. Obviously it also helps that they are "lightyears" ahead in everything they do, but hey, lucking into a great signing and TV deal isn't too bad...and landing a dude who took the chicken s--- way out. I always though Durant had a bit of that old school mentality in him. I guess not.

It truly is NBA 2k. GS looking to eclipse the 73-9 I take it?

I'm not so sure. Never forget Gilbert and his stealth connection to the sleazy midget Stern and his likely still active connection to sleazy stick man Silver and ESPN's hard on for the greatest of all times KING. Just sayin'.

Well our pick is top 3 protected next season so I hope not. :DO

I think our 2019 pick might also be gone as well as most of our 2nd rounders.

2017 first round draft pick to Philadelphia
    L.A. Lakers' 1st round pick to Philadelphia (via Phoenix) protected for selections 1-3 in 2017 and unprotected in 2018 [L.A. Lakers-Phoenix, 7/11/2012; Milwaukee-Philadelphia-Phoenix, 2/19/2015]

2019 first round draft pick to Orlando
If the L.A. Lakers convey a 1st round pick to Philadelphia in 2017, then the L.A. Lakers' 2019 1st round pick to Orlando; if the L.A. Lakers do not convey a 1st round pick to Philadelphia in 2017, then the L.A. Lakers will instead convey their 2017 2nd round pick and 2018 2nd round pick to Orlando [L.A. Lakers-Orlando, 8/10/2012]

2019 second round draft pick to Portland or Cleveland
Portland will receive the more favorable of the L.A. Lakers' 2019 2nd round pick (via Indiana to Cleveland) and Minnesota's 2019 2nd round pick (via Cleveland) and Cleveland will receive the less favorable of these two picks [Cleveland-Minnesota, 6/25/2015; Indiana-L.A. Lakers, 7/9/2015; Cleveland-Indiana, 7/23/2015; Cleveland-Portland, 7/27/2015]; Cleveland may convey the pick to Portland (see Cleveland Outgoing)
