Clear space and offer $30 mil to Pau or Wade.

I agree with everything except avoiding contracts this summer to preserve space.

We can't crap on them for wasting cap space and then crap on them again for not saving cap room. I'd rather hand out contracts and then make trades as needed. Durant just got a meeting with the Clippers who didn't have room. The Warriors don't have room but they got a meeting. I know we're not as good as them obviously but that's the goal: be respectable and then shed salaries as needed.

Other than that I agree: time for a change. Ideally you clean out all Busses except Jesse but I understand ousting Jeanie is nearly impossible.

Would rather give Crabbe an offer sheet similar to Deng's contract and take a shot there with a young solid 3&D shooter (from LA, by the way). Then unload Lou via trade if we land him.

If Portland matches, just fill out the roster and carry over that cap room to next summer.

2 more years left on Swaggy contract. Ride it out unless it's to get a big time player or trade him. Lakers are already risking a lot with two 4 year contracts at almost 40 mil plus per. No sense in adding more if you don't have to.

Wow! I'm shocked...the mind gorgingly over-optimistic TRD and my Debbie downin butt are actually agreeing on something for once. You know times are tough in LaLa land. Haha

That being said, I think you need to collect the "right" assets. An injured champion team castaway and a "right" asset when he was a baby bull, both on the tail end of their careers don't fall under that category imho. Normally it's fringe championship contenders that would trade for these guys and both the Cavs and Heat fall in that category and did not retain them. Now compound that with tragic contracts that push them to their mid 30s and they become the NBA equivalent of lepers.

His mere presence in that locker room is poison. He'll be traded, stretched, or bought out.

Whatever the method, he's 99.9% certain to be gone.

I'd hire Iggy as a guest executive just to deliver the paperwork to him notifying him that he's done in LA.

I don't want to argue - but west stepped back not due to age or being in touch or out of touch with NBA rostermaking but one thing - stress / burnout.

When he went back to work he resumed franchise building in Memphis. Did quite well there as a talent scout and now holds an advisory role with GS and is one of the reasons they drafted and kept klay, Barnes, and green. Sorry but give me s break on the 'age' and/or metrics argument for or against mitch.

Gotta start somewhere and I really don't think that they're lepers. We'll see. I think this was an important first step. Bogut was initially a questionable call for GS but it worked out. I have faith on that front.

Give you a break? When did I say it was BECAUSE of age? I said it was around that time when Jerry stepped down. The same stressors Jerry endured, Mitch has faced and more. It's "time" does not necessarily mean it is literally the same moment in time.

    Ok.
Sure read that way to me. Wasn't accusing you of being 'agist' just buying into the nonsense that has plagued Dodgers and Ned coletti.

    Hmmmm potential backup PG?

He was pretty good in April when he finally got minutes - 16&5 in 32min, almost 50% from 3

Another shooter. Probably worth a look. Gotta think Mitch has at least one more move up his sleeve.
