Crabbe would be a great pick up, i thought he played well in the playoffs against the Warriors. Local kid too.

Thanks Zen! Probably doesn't mean anything, but the timing is definitely interesting.

The more I think of it, the more I want Ramon Sessions back. I think that'd be a great pickup for us. I don't know how much he'd cost, but backup PGs have been running anywhere from 27-30 million guaranteed over 3-4 years.

    Russell (5.3)/Sessions (10)/Huertas (1.1)
    Clarkson (11)/Williams (7)
    Deng (16.8)/Ingram (4.1 cap hold)/Brown (.87)
    Randle (3.3)/Nance Jr. (1.2)
    Mozgov (15)/Bass (10)/Black (1.1)/Zubac (0.7)

That gets us to near 81 million. Am I missing someone? Feels like I'm missing someone.

Any how I like that team a lot. There's a lot of speed and athleticism off the bench. That first team can shoot and move around nicely. That looks like a solid team fighting for the 8th seed and there's still some more cash to shore up that backup C spot if we're uncomfortable.

Cap jump next season is 13 million. A max deal is roughly 36 million. We'd need to preserve what's left of our cap if you want to hold on to a max slot so no backup C. I don't care about a max slot next season, but if anyone else does we could do a 2/20 million dollar deal with a team option on Brandon Bass. He'd give us a good small ball Center that's mobile and athletic. Then reject his option next summer.

I think we need to proceed under the assumption that Westbrook isn't coming. We have talked ourselves into believing the big-names were coming here for going on 4 seasons now and it has cost us. I no longer thinks it's smart to make deals and clear cap-space on pure speculation, as long as our team fails to make the playoffs, which it is likely to do this year. I think we need to focus on 2018 and work to improve our record in the meantime.

I said it already but Kobe REALY needs to start "bombing" Russ about joining the Lakers. Every single day of off-season and at least twice a week when the season starts ;).

Pipe prediction? KD to Warriors. Too perfect a fit, and makes their run a lot easier on all the bodies.

The Thunder, realizing they will certainly lose Russ next year, trade with the Lakers. DAR, Ingram, and Lou out. Westbrook in. Wade signs to stick it to Riley. Jimmy meets his deadline.

    Westbrook
    Wade
    Deng
    JR
    Moz

Gasol comes home for a discount.

Clarkson, Gasol, and Nance round out a very solid rotation.

Shhhhhhhh. I am still sleeping and dreaming...

Why the hell would we do that? Westbrook is a free agent in a year. We don't need to give up any assets for him. If he really wanted to come he'd come anyway. The team we have now would be better with Westbrook then that one would be. I doubt a 35 year old Wade, Deng, and Randle would be enough to entice Westbrook. We'd need D'Lo and Brandon.

Wow. Cheap for Trey. ?? Though he did go from a 60-game starter to a total scrub for them. He would have fit nicely with our youth re-build as a back-up PG to see if he could indeed "reset". Has a competitive edge.

Because I agree with others here - Russ is likely not coming here in FA next year. I am not sure that we "need" DAR. Ingram, maybe.

AND - Westbrook isn't coming here unless DAR is out. Westbrook wants to be a PG, not a SG.

I'd be extatic to get Crabbe.

I remember watching a Portland game last season and thinking he stood out both offensively snd defensively, but I didn't know who he was. I thought to myself "who is this big eared dude that's ballin' all over the court":D Been a fan ever since

Very weird. Burke isn't a scrub. There must have been some cap issue, or attitude issue with Burke or something.
