    Any word on Bass..?
I keep seeing the Ryan Anderson Rumors, which would be fine too.. Adds a stretch 4.

I'm not sure if Ryan Anderson is coming, but I would take Bass back. Outside of last year, I thought Bass' mid-range was fairly consistent. He was pressing at the beginning of last year which caused him to struggle (his words), so I think coming in this year, not pressing, having a change of schemes will suit him perfectly.

As it stands, our roster is looking much, much, better; again, best summer in awhile. We've accumulated some actual NBA talent to pair with the younger group of players who are all 1 year further along with the exception of Ingram.

    It's Biyombo's choice too.

He was waiting on DDR. As some has said, we're not waiting on anyone then lose outright.

Think, we could be in Dallas' position right now and not have a center at all.

We did what had to be done at the time and while we may have overpaid, it's not like we didn't have room to do so.

Time to check in where we are at cap wise (Based on EP's projections)....

    DAR (5.3) / Huertas (1.0 QO))
    JC (11.2) / Lou (7)
    Deng (16.8) / Ingram (4.4) / Brown (1)
    Randle (3.3) / Nance (1.2)
    Mozgov (15) / Black (1.2QO) / Zubac (1)

    Young stretched - 2.2

Total - 70.6 million......23.4 million left in cap space

    Next season....

    DAR (5.6) / _____
    JC (12.0) / Lou (7)
    Deng (17.6) / Ingram (6 ?) / Brown (1.3 QO)
    Randle (3.3) / Nance (1.3)
    Moz (15.7) / Black (3 ?) / Zubac (1)

    Young stretched - 2.2
    1 cap hold - 500k

Total - 76.5 million......31.5 million in cap space (108 million dollar cap)

Granted having a ton of cap space hasn't meant much to free agents, I'm on the side of going to get someone else this year (Main target Courtney Lee) and trying to dump Lou (Who really doesn't fit this offense) to a team that doesn't want to spend like wild men in this FA period. Also, Jabari is a cheaper Lou and can provide a more team oriented option.

Sign Lee for 13-15 million, bring back Huertas and Black on low money deals, call it an offseason.

    DAR / JC / Huertas
    Lee / JC / Jabari
    Deng / Ingram / Brown
    Randle / Nance
    Moz / Black / Zubac

    The Portland Revival team.

How is it clear that we "undervalued" Biyombo? And how is it clear that we "overvalued" Mozgov? What's the evidence for those claims?

I like a lot of this, but there's something I don't. Tough to get on board with Courtney Lee eating up that cap room that we'd otherwise have. He has a 4/$40M offer right now. We'd have to offer him multiple years - at least three, even at the 13-15 mark, I'd say, to make it sweeter than 4/40. But then we don't have a max slot next season.

would have much rather gotten afflalo at that price. Or at least only sign deng to a 2 year with a 3rd year T.O.

Deng is a better player than Afflalo by a good margin. Good deal with Afflalo, but there's got to be a reason why he was on a discount to Sacramento of all places. Something is fishy there.

Still processing the Biyombo deal. That's a lot of money.

Deng is a much better player though. He's a legit starting caliber SF/PF

Afflalo is basically just a catch and shoot player now better served coming off the bench. His defense has dropped considerably.

I agree a bit, but did you watch deng play this year? He's declined a good amount. Signing deng is great, i just don't understand the 4 years to
a declining player. 2 plus a team option would have been so much better.

Deng is better now, but in 2 years he's never gonna be on the floor IMO due to injuries and declining game

My thoughts exactly. Not mad at Deng, mad at the contract. Question his ability to produce the same numbers for the next 4 years. We definitely overpaid but we will be better.

Some dudes with some Lakers connections...

    Some guys Shaw has coached
    Aaron Brooks UFA

Not a defender, but he's a decent three-point shooter. Definitely on the descending portion of his career, but he's still a rotation player. Not a good defender. Could provide some vet leadership at the PG spot.

    Ty Lawson UFA
This dude has been a nightmare since leaving Denver. I'd steer clear of him.

    Andre Miller UFA
I'm sure he wants little to do with us if anyone else will give him some love. Has slipped considerably on both sides of the court, but if we are looking for a mentor, he's a good dude.

    Ian Clark UFA
He's an interesting player. He's not a veteran, however, and that's sort of what we're looking for.

    JJ Hickson UFA
He's only two seasons removed from averaging a double double over two seasons' worth of play. He can't shoot, but he can do work around the basket. Respectable defender.

Hickson and Miller/Brooks would be good additions.

I think we historically have preferred big 7' centers and have been wary of shorter centers.

It was reported that a big reason we liked Mozgov so much was because of Shaw's familiarity with him. So we had more information about Mozgov than Biyombo.

I'm not talking in terms of money. Perhaps "over/under valued" was the wrong word. I think we underrated Biyombo on our list of preferred free agents because he's short, and I think we overrated Mozgov on our list of preferred free agents because of his size and the fact that Shaw gave a good word for him.

I don't have evidence of that. Perhaps they took those factors into consideration proportionately along with the other relevant factors and still came to the conclusion that Mozgov is a better player/fit. If so, I personally think they're wrong based on the eye test. But I'm not an NBA scout and have only seen a handful of games from both players.

    Draymond Green's on a 4/$70M contract. He's 26.

BTW looks like Harrison Barnes is staying in GS. Literally no word on him, I guess he's letting the Warriors figure out the KD situation.....he hasn't even met with other teams.
