Ingram is a 3 and a starter. Deng played his best ball as a PF last year.

I don't know that Russ is "much better" than George. Westbrook is better on offense, but he's significantly less good on defense. How many players are all-nba and all-d in this league? George has done it three times in a row. George is also two years younger. All that said, both of them would be the best player here by a hundred miles.

You don't have to sell me on Westbrook I love the kid, his game, and he's a Bruin.

See I don't want Ingram to play off the bench. I want him on the floor banging with NBA players, getting run in our offense, learning to play NBA level D, and gelling with the young guns. Even if Deng plays the 4 in small ball, that takes minutes from Randle/Nance whom I also want to develop. And if the plan is to start Deng but let Ingram play 30+ minutes, then we just overpaid for Deng.

I think Deng will be done in four years because he probably will be. He already started to decline this year and we're paying him double digit millions through 35. I can see this contract being a major headache a few years from now (Mozgov too). At least we robbed Clarkson.

Westbrook was an MVP candidate last season and he would've been this year if not for Steph. I like George, but he's just not on his level. Yes he is a better defender, but Westbrook is the better overall scorer. More explosive offensively, better play maker, more athletic, more dynamic, an incredible rebounder for a guard, and you could make the argument he was the Thunder's best player in the playoffs.

Most players decline by his age. Doesn't mean he's gonna be done. He doesn't have a game that is reliant on athleticism. Quite the opposite actually. He relies on his size, length, and he's so good without the ball which makes him an excellent fit.

I love Ingram, but we can't just play him huge minutes right away. He'll break down. We needed to get someone who can at worst back him up if he does start or split minutes with him if he does that.

As for Randle and Nance it's not like Deng will be there full time. They'll still get plenty of minutes at power forward and likely center. I just don't what else people want. We needed veterans, we needed players, we needed depth, we needed high character guys. Both of the guys we got do that for us.

    Paul George 23.1 points, 4.1 assists, 7.0 rebounds, 1.9 steals, 3.3 TO.
    Westbrook 23.5 points, 10.4 assists, 7.8 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 4.3 TO.

    Westbrook in the playoffs: 26-11-7.
    PG in the playoffs: 25-7-4.

They're both really, really good, and they both pile up stats.

    Huh....
Bismack most likely going to be back up? Vucevic is still around and then theres Air Gordan and Ibaka too. Thats a crowded front court if you ask me.

I don't see him taking minutes from Clarkson, if anything he will split minutes with Ingram and take minutes from Nance Jr, not an issue for me.

I still can't believe Big Al Jefferson signed a 3 and 30 deal with the Pacers. What a steal.

With Ingram's inexperience and Nance's knee issues...it's all good. All in all, a sensible move.

Eddie started and Kobe came off the bench as a rookie. No worries. Deng will be our Iggy in years 3 and 4.
