Does Boston have the Dominican Republic populace Horford want to be in?

Call me crazy, but I'd be okay giving Wade something like 3 years/$75 million.

I know he's old, but he'd be a great vet to lead the young kids while also deferring. Plus, you have to remember that he won't decline as significantly with all those PED's! :D

...and Ms. Union will be close to our movie industry so her career is kept going. 'Ole Moussehead will be disappointed.

looks like the lakers are doubling down on in house talent and are after roll players and vets to build around the young core.

Part of me wishes they would have gotten better role player talent over the last two years instead of chasing the big fish....but then we probably don't have DAR and Ingram.

I don't understand where we'd have a role for him (Anderson) right now, unless we're ok just gathering assets with a blockbuster trade in mind down the road.

I wanted him yesterday, but I didn't anticipate the Lakers signing Deng. Now I don't really see many minutes for him here.

Anderson would be a competent stretch 4 but is really redundant with Deng on board who can slide to that position not to mention it takes away a portion of Randle's minutes, so "no" for me. A back-up point man worth a damn! Sessions? Jack? Who is out there?

    Luol Deng

Pros: veteran presence, unselfish, good defender, good for small ball lineups

Cons: 4 year deal, not a 3 point shooter, old and declining, takes away minutes from Clarkson/Ingram, will be earning nearly $20M at age 35

    1) I like the veteran presence and that we brought in a defender. I don't like someone taking away minutes from Clarkson and Ingram.
    2) Again, like the Mozgov thing - If he's only going to play 25 minutes a game it's overpaying IMO
    3) Would've preferred Horford who's talking to non-contenders....we could've grabbed him, got Deng, and still saved money for next year
    4) 4 years at his age is a long time. This also puts us out of the running for Paul George next year - unless we're okay with both Deng and Clarkson off the bench for $30M.

How does Deng take away minutes from Clarkson? They don't play the same position even when we go small. Yes he does take minutes away from Ingram, but so what? We're not gonna play the kid 35 minutes a game nor should we.

As for Paul George we still have a max slot available next season although he isn't a max free agent till 2018. Westbrook will be on the market next season. If we get him do we really need Paul George? I mean I'd love to get him, but just getting Westbrook will be enough. Once the young guys grow we can be dominant.

I would've liked to have two max guys, but right now it's an outside shot we get one much less two. We needed to get some good veterans and the Lakers did just that.

Horford has shown no interest in us whatsoever. We couldn't have grabbed him even if he's talking to non-contenders. Teams he has talked to are all better than us.

And how does he take away playing time from Clarkson? Clarkson is going to play the 2 and 1 maybe. Deng plays the 3 and 4. Ingram isn't going to be playing 30+ mins right out the gate, Deng allows us to get Ingram into NBA shape and in a couple years when Ingram explodes, Deng will be in the decline.

He's not a great 3 point shooter but he is average, and if I remember correctly, he's pretty good from the corners.

Because we have two spots for 3 players. Ingram is more of a two than Clarkson so we might choose to start Ingram and play Clarkson off the bench.

We don't need russell westbrook when we have DAngelo and Clarkson. Paul George is the perfect player for this team, a scoringg 3 & D and our go to guy for a bucket. Westbrook is staying in OKC or ring chasing.

Would've preferred someone 2 years younger and 2 points better from 3P land when you're getting 4/$72M.

This still makes us better but that doesn't mean it's the perfect deal or even a great one.

Whats great about clarkson/ingram is that they can play multiple positions so they will get minutes somehow.

    Ingram is a 3 and Clarkson is a 2.
Westbrook is arguably a top 5 player, if you can get him, you get him and figure fit out later. Clarkson can always be the sixth man.

Sorry, but Russell Westbrook is a better player than Paul George. Much better. He's as good any player in this league aside from LeBron and Steph. You simply move him to 2 and bring Clarkson off the bench.

Ingram isn't a 2, yes he has great length, but he doesn't have enough lateral quickness for a 2 guard to play there consistently. He'll be either be a backup 3 man or the starter if he beats out Deng.

This is a great deal. Four years so what? Why do you people think Deng will be done in four years? I don't see it. He'll still be at worst a really good backup. He's not a great shooter, but he's certainly a solid one. He's still a terrific defender. He's a great professional and leader. We need some of that and all of that.

I doubt Westbrook would go ring chasing. Too much of a competitor. If Durant stays in OKC he probably will too, but if not all bets are off.
