Joe Johnson for 22 million is an interesting deal. He would have fit the "vet" criteria and he played for Utah who isn't great so...

I'm guessing soon we're venturing into RFA and/or dump candidates soon.

We aren't really in the position to say "no thanks"... Its more like "I beg you please take a meeting"

Joe Johnson @ $22 million is the only player taking a pay cut today.

Very. I don't know if there are any wings on the FO market that the Lakers would sign right now.

I remember when we struck out on centers last year; the Lakers were extremely quiet about acquiring any centers in the market because they had a deal in place for Hibbert. I can see the same exact scenario playing itself out...

Mozgov fits. That's what we're after, fit. Joe wouldn't have fit, at all.

Just because we haven't heard anything about meeting with anyone doesn't mean we're making calls.

It's still the first day of Free Agency with a lot depending on what Durant is doing.

    Gimme a break.

Its the first day, but almost all noteworthy people have signed. There isn't much left bud. Beggars can't be choosers. You are in denial if you don't see how weak our position is right now. Deng/afflalo aren't exactly great fits either. But i'd take em at this point

    Denial? Right. Whatever you say.

It's called being realistic. I know we're not getting those players because I actually understand our current situation.

Why the hell would an established player who wants to win join a team that had its worst season and is compiled of young players?

Deng/Afflalo are much better fits than Joe, I don't know what you're smoking over there.

Is it still unconfirmed if Mozgov's 4th year is a team option?

Agree - liked the 'efforts' on baze but think this is what I expected. Gerald Green, Anderson, Barnes all still out there. Anderson bought house in Hermosa Beach. Wonder if that is why Durant was 'wowed' by Clips presentation.

Well than you agree. We are not getting most players, so maybe we need to get SOMEONE before everyone signs. And like I said, I'd take both the guys you mentioned in a heartbeat. Cause we are beggars at this point. Not choosers.

I'm sorry but it's basketball right? I mean we don't sign people just because there is no one left - this ignores what we are doing as an organization- it's called losing but also rebuilding. Hurts for a while. That is part of the deal. Let everyone run to make a signing. We wait and build slowly even if it hurts

And we did get someone before everyone signs, Mozgov, and people are running around like chicken littles over the move.

Again, A LOT of players and teams are waiting for the Durant decision to pass.

Personally I think experienced vets are valuable for this team. But we gotta get someone.

Im not one of those chickens haha Im fine with mosgov. Obviously not on our wishlists, but he will anchor the Defense a bit more than people think. But if deng and afflalo sign...Whats left?

And I would be EXTREMELY happy about that. In fact, I'd bet Mitch has an agreement in place.

    Also... where is gumby at?
